Hi carolsherman and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

Can't help with London but the posters on the UK board here will also be able to help.

Regarding DLP the equivalent value hotels on-site are Hotel Cheyenne and Santa Fe. There are also good deals to be had with the partner hotels that are serve by shuttle bus. Holiday Inn in particular often has very good internet deals.
Have a look at the Hotel FAQ to give you an idea of the variety of offerings

Hi Carolsherman-
DH and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Southwark the night before we left from Waterloo, paid £59 for the night plus breakfast (double with a sofabed). The bed was a bit squishy and hotel location is not exactly 'central', but for an affordable short stay before Eurostar, can't beat it (five minute taxi ride to Waterloo and 5-10 min walk to the river and Southwark tube). I wouldn't do a long stay there though or you'll throw your back out!

I'd also recommend the Premier Travel Inn chain, they're always affordably priced and the rooms look decent. They're all over the city but there's one in the County Hall building just next to the London Eye, so ideal location. Haven't stayed with the chain but it seems basic and affordable and would consider it. Also try searching tripadvisor, the reviews I've found on every hotel we've used are really reliable.

Enjoy your trip!

(Should clarify these are all London references!)

I have seen some post on the Marriott near DLP is that any good. Holiday Inn in DLP looks a little young for my kids they are 12 and 15. At least the marriott has a kitchen etc.

We stayed at Marriott's Village Ile de France and were extremely pleased. The units are lovely and huge -- two bedrooms, two bathrooms plus powder room, living room, dining room, full kitchen, and a laundry room.

We used a taxi the day we arrived, resort shuttle on days we went to the parks, and a rental car when we went on daytrips.
