We decided to add a Disneyland trip and runDisney race in January. I'm too late for VGC, everything is booked:sad1:. So what is the next best thing? We are a family of 7 and my mom will be there too (so 8 guests total)

rundisney has not announced disneyland races for 2018 yet since they are still working with city, traffic and police officials to finalize plans ~~ that is if the races happen at all next year! :worried:
so if you are set on running the rundisney races ensure the plans you do make are refundable in case the race events are cancelled.

in the past we have stayed at BW Stovalls but there are only 3 in my family so the accommodation might not fit well for you ~ others here might be able to recommend accommodations for 8!

Happy Planning!

For real...watching those registration announcements like a hawk. Although I'll probably go that weekend anyway because it's our son's birthday. :bday:

yup -- exactly one year ago today I registered for the tinkerbell weekend for 2017 and right now there has been no word on any race events at disneyland for 2018

Assuming the race happens and the start line is where it has been, DLH and PPH are closest to the start lines. You could always book something refundable and then see if the race rates are available once you have bibs. If for some reason you're not able to get all of the bibs you need, you'd also have the option to cancel through WDTC and use a company that sells bib and room packages. You may also want to look at places on Harbor as a backup and for price comparison.

I would think the Residence Inn Maingate would be a good option. They have a family suite with a loft, so 3 beds plus a pullout sofa and full kitchen.

I already have my hotel booked for Star Wars too despite the fact that registration hasn't opened yet. Just book a hotel you can cancel. We usually stay at the Hojo on Harbor. They also offer a discount to runners is you call them directly. Great beds. Great kids pool and adult pool and yes we have used the pools in January. Keurigs in the room. Interior corridors. Great staff. Less then 10 min walk to parks and about 20 min walk to the corrals.
