Hi,

We'll be touring Epcot in July and know how hot it's going to be. :sunny: We definitely want to pace ourselves while we make our way around the World Showcase portion.

Can anyone suggest some air conditioned places to sit and have a break? I know about "The American Experience" but that's about it for inside, sit down and air conditioned.

If you're looking for sit-down air conditioned rides to escape the heat, the Maelstrom in Norway and the Rio Del Tiempo (I think that's pretty close :) ) in Mexico are good. Also, there's tons of little inside shops in each country that are fun to look through. In fact, Mexico is a great place to stop because the entire inside is air conditioned once you enter the pyramid. :sunny:

The movie in France was our "coolest" break last summer. A/C was working great :flower: Did have seating and it was very refreshing..............

There are also films in France and Canada. There are so many little shops along the way that are air conditioned.

I concur. DW gets cold very easily and we got into a fight over her complaining while inside France.

Ice Station Cool....! We cool down, and get a free sample of pop! :cool1: Altho I realize you can't sit down, it DOES feel really good in there!!!

We always stop at France and watch the film. It's a nice break from walking and I never get tired of the film.

So it looks like for sit down relax and chill, it's France, USA, Norway (although that's a ride) and Mexico. Canada's film is a stand-up one.

I second the NOrway and Mexico rides/attractions, both are indoors so even if you have to wait in line you can stay cool, and the boat ride in the Mexico ride is a nice way to relax for a few minutes!

What is the film about ? How long is it? It is definitely a seated theatre, right??

We went in late July, and before WS opened, dd wanted an ice cream Mickey - talk about melting!! Well, we went into this building, where the washrooms are located, AIR CONDITIONING - EMPTY TABLES!! Woohoo :cool1: Score!! :cool1:

Talk about a delightful few moments!! the window overlooked the fountains... the Mickey Bars :mickeybar were wonderful, the washrooms close by!

We also like the movie in China - there isn't a place to sit down in the theater (circle vision), but the lobby as seats. Also there's a cool walk through there.

I like the World Showcase to people watch, too, and most of the countries have benches in tucked away places where you can enjoy the shade and just watch what people are up to.

Also, the restaurants are GREAT there! One nice place to relax is in the lounge (forget the name) at Japan - you can sit near the windows and look out over the lagoon.

I LOVE WS! Probably my favorite place in all of WDW!!!

Movies, movies, movies, plus.... Canada, France, American Adventure, and China. Try the Maelstrom in Norway.

A whole bunch of people sat down in the row in front of us just before the Canda film began. DD7 and DS7 quickly joined them (and I accompanied them) as they were pooped from hours of walking, including FW and all of WS starting with Mexico. Know it wasn't a "true" around experience, but, for us, it was worth it. Just an option for families with wiggly or tired children who might otherwise pass on this -- it was a nice experience, worth viewing, and not bothersome to anyone else.

There is a place in Morocco on the left as you walk into the pavillion. I can't remember the name, but contains an art exhibit I think. It's small but not many go in and it's usually peaceful.

Hope

If you face Japan, go back as far as you can, and take a left, there's a nice little art exhibit inside, quiet, air conditioned, with benches to sit down.

I agree....both of these are wonderful! I really like El Rio De Tiempo because everytime I go, there is no wait time....I have always just walked right on! It is also a nice slow paced ride you can relax on. ::MickeyMo
