hi

I apologise if this is a question asked lots. I have read the last couple of threads and haven't seen this being asked.

I am going Orlando at the end of September 2016. We are staying 2 weeks in the lake buena vista area so downtown Disney is walkable. (We will not have a car) so restricted to the parks, downtown Disney and near b resort where we are staying. I am looking for recommendations of places to eat. I don't like spicy food or fish! Will be dinning in the all of the above areas.

While discussing places to eat can I ask if anyone would recommend any of the dinning packages that gets you into a reserved area of say fantastic, illuminations or wishes (if they do them) are they worth it? Any other recommendations. Cafe mickey is something I have seen mentioned before. Is it worth is? Is that a character experience? Would you recommend them?

Thank you for any info it is greatly appreciated and so complicated planning these trips! I am trying to be as organised as I can be which is why I have started planning over a year in advance! Lol

Thanks

Claire

We really like House of Blues in DTD Westside. Very good food and service. Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD Marketplace is a great counter service restaurant with portions large enough to share.

Our favorites in Disney Resorts are Narcoossee's, Sanaa and Califoria Grill. We eat at these every trip!

Counter service in the parks that we like:
MK - Columbia Harbour House
AK - Flametree BBQ and Harambe Market

DTD:

Table Service (TS) - Raglan Road
- T-Rex
Quick Service (QS) - Cooke's of Dublin
- Fantasy Fare food truck

MK:

TS - The Plaza
- Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
QS - Pinnochio's Village Haus
- Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn & Cafe

HS:

TS - 50's Prime Time Cafe
- Sci Fi Dine-In Theatre

AK:

TS - Tusker House
QS - Flametree Barbecue

Epcot:

TS - Biergarten (Germany)
- Via Napoli (Italy)
QS - La Cava de Tequila (Mexico)
- Sommerfest (Germany)
- Les Halles Boulangerie et Patisserie (France)

TS - Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge
- Yachtsman Steakhouse at Yacht Club

This is all I can think of off the top of my head. We have a ton of new restaurants on our line up for our December trip. I can make more recommendations after that. :)

Wow. Lol. Thank you! Think we went to the Italian in Epcot last time. Just by fluke. Was the best meal of the trip!! (You just reminded me)

Some of our favorites include the following

DTD
Ragland Road

AK
Yak & Yeti TS
Tusker House Breakfast

Epcot
Biergarten
Le Cellier
Teppan Edo
Tangerine Cafe
Chefs de France

MK
BOG (lunch)

DHS
PT 50s
Pizza Planet (We love it there)

Raglan Road is my top choice for DTD. Resorts my picks would be: Sanaa, Kona (Breakfast, esp.), Trails End, California Grill, & Yachtsman Steakhouse. Parks: Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch, 50's Prime Time Café, & Le Cellier are our favorites.

Our three favorite are raglan road, paridso 37 and t - rex. Bongos is a strong runner up to these three . Good eating And Ghirardelli for dessert !!!

Okay, I would highly advise you to start reading the threads during the food and wine festival. A lot of Dis'rs post reviews and pics of meals during this time. I will posting some myself at end of October for our trip. Having been to Disney many times. Consider these per your food preferences, House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck and Raglan Road. There will be more restaurants opening this fall. I absolutely think that Paradiso 37 is the absolute worst restaurant at Disney! Ate there twice(to give second chance) and both times food bad and service! Also, from other reports I have seen, chef Mickey doesn't usually get a great review. Depending where you are staying, Bahama Breeze is also good and very eclectic menu. Its closer to the Marriott Village.

Except for Epcot, we tend to leave the parks and hit resorts for dinners. For example, a boat to Wildnerness Lodge from MK for dinner.

Marketplace Raglan Road. T-Rex is fun but only if you have kids
Epcot - Biergarten and Garden Grill, which is character dining but low key and relaxing
AK Lodge- Boma
Wilderness Lodge- Whispering Canyon
Yacht/Beach - Toss up, love both Cape May Cafe and Yachtsman, but very different from each other, so depends on what you want
MK - Love Pecos Bills for quick lunch, then around the corner is Dole Whip!
PO Riverside - Boatwrights
Studios - Sci Fi Drive-in

Animal kingdom
Tusker house for breakfast
Yak and Yeti

Epcot
Via Napoli

Hollywood studios
Sci fi for dinner
50's prime time

Magic kingdom
Be our guest or CRT for the atmosphere.
Tony town square (a lot of people don't like it but my family really enjoys it)

One of our favorite DTD (or now DS) restaurants is Paradiso 37. DD hates spicy and loves this place so don't let the name fool you. We also enjoyed the Boathouse a few months ago but it's a little pricey.
