My fiancee and I will be going to WDW for our honeymoon 11/25-11/30, and she is a vegetarian. She still eats and enjoys dairy products, but no meat, fish, or eggs. What restaurants at disney have the most vegetarian selections, and are there any that are exclusively vegetarian? I'm trying to find something that would give her at least a few different choices...

There is no place that is exclusively vegetarian, but almost every place has a veggie option or you can ask for special made items.

Boma is great for vegetarians. There are so many choices there.

Crystal Palace lunch/dinner also has lots of choices for vegetarians.

Boma (LOTS of veggie options), Kona Cafe (Asian noodles with veggies), Tokyo Dining (vegetable tempura and sushi), Tangierine Cafe (great veggie plate), Coral Reef (veggie pastry entree), Plaza Restaurant (veggie sandwich), Le Chefs de France (goat cheese salad entree). Those are just my favorites, but there's plenty more choices, because as Mommymcgee mentioned, every place has at least one veggie entree or will make one on request.

We are vegetarians, and one of our favorites is the Columbia House veg chili and lighthouse sandwich. We go there everytime we are in MK.

You will find that WDW has a log of options for vegetarians, that is one of the reasons we love WDW so much!

Another vote for the Veggie Chili and Lighthouse Sandwich at Columbia Harbour House! :thumbsup2

Mmmmm...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. :goodvibes

Don't forget the Mickey shaped chocolate-covered rice krispie treats. Those are vegetarian, too! :rotfl2:

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

That probably depends on much of a 'vegetarian' you are. I think rice krispie treats are made with marshmellows which are made with geletin. But if I am wrong, I would love to know!

Depends (in part) on whether they make them with marshmallows or marshmallow creme. Does anyone know for sure?

I've heard great things about the Tofu entree at Sci-Fi cafe. Has anyone tried it?

definitely marshmallow - they aren't vegetarian

Sci-Fi - the tofu entree is awesome! Thin, crisp tofu and the curry sauce is delicious. It is vegan too which makes it a great option for someone who doesn't do eggs.

Since she doesn't do egg products, you should ask to speak to the chef at all TS places you eat, especially the buffets. In terms of veggie friendly, Crystal Palace for lunch or dinner but avoid it like the plague for b'fast. Boma at AKL is awesome - ask for the chef because they create delicious, made-to-order vegan entrees and desserts (great option for b'fast too). Hollywood and Vine can be a good choice too if the chef makes something for her. For a great TS, try Jiko at the AKL - the food is awesome. I don't recommend California Grill anymore, at all. The veggie entree is uninspired and doesn't include any protein other than mushrooms. The meat is pretty bad too - they burned my DS's steak then brought him a raw one when we complained. Never again! Artist Pointe at WL is a good option and surprisingly, the Whispering Canyon Cafe has some good veggie options. They can do the dinner pasta without chicken and it is really good!

We were there in August with DD who is a semi-vegetarian. (She eats fish.) Her favorites were Boma, Columbia Harbour House, Sunshine Seasons and Tangerine Cafe. She also liked Jiko and the Coral Reef but she had fish there. I think of the no-fish places Boma was her favorite.

I'm not a vergetarian but was in the mood for a meatless meal at MGM one night. I can't tell you where to go but I can tell u by all means for counter service do not, I repeat, DO NOT step foot in ABC Commisary. We got their vegatarian wrap and it was in-edible. Worst meal I have ever had on WDW property.

Tusker House in AK has a vegetarian section, although I can't vouch for it.

Like anything, there is always more than one opinion. :upsidedow I love the veggie wrap at ABC Commissary and have it more than once on every trip. We also like the vegetable lo mein at ABC.

The veggie chili at Columbia Harbor House is another favorite.

Sunshine Seasons at the Land (Epcot Future World) also has vegetable lo mein, as well as other veggie options.

I would also recommends the grilled vegetable panini (Boardwalk Bakery) and the grilled veggie sandwich at ESPN.

I am a big fan of soups and I have found that veggie soup (no meat/chicken/fish stock used) is usually available at Cape May (BC) and 1900 Park Fare (GF). Sometimes they have vegetarian soup at Sunshine Seasons too.

Check the menus at allears.net...

I'm vegetarian (DH is not), and we went in January. The best meal was at Le Cellier's, which is a steak house. The menu changes, and they don't have the same dish now (but I won't hesitate to try whatever the veg entree is when we go to Le Cellier this January!). The worst veg entree that I had was at Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge. Crystal Palace dinner was great!

Also, after reading this post, it sounds like you can just ask at most TS restaurants for something vegetarian (which I will do next time!)...

Just make sure that she mentions that she is veg if unsure about the food. I had to get "special potatoes" at CRT breakfast because the regular potatoes have meat.

Many CS places have at least a veggie burger. Off the top of my head, the CS place in Morocco has a veg plate, and Columbia Harbour House in MK has some veg options. And if you are staying at the WL, the CS restaurant Roaring Fork has a great veg sandwich.

Have a great trip!
