Best place to watch fireworks, outside the parks?

We'll be arriving on Sunday, for our trip in June, but won't be starting our park visits until Monday. Our plan, when we get in the area, is to check out Downtown Disney and have dinner there. Am I correct in assuming you can see at least some of the fireworks from DTD? Is there a better place to watch them from?

Depending on where you are staying you may be able to see them from your hotel - I have heard them when in DTD but with the trees and being at ground level we did not see much. We have seen them from our hotel across the street though, that was a better view than from DTD but maybe other people have better vantage points to share. I'd be interested too as our first day there we won't be going into the parks either but will be dining in DTD.

The Esplanade is a pretty popular location to watch the fireworks, but you can only see the higher up ones and you can't really hear the music.

I've also read about people watching from the upper floors of the M&F parking structure.

Is there any place at the DLH that has a good view other then the concierge lounge?

The only negative about the parking structure is you're going to hear a lot of car alarms going off. It might not be as bad with the current show because it relies more on smaller and low fireworks to go along with the projections, but th big booming ones with cause some alarms to go off. It can get pretty loud. It's also not as impressive of a show from outside the parks as the last one, so you might want to temper expectations a little.

Good points. I think our room is supposed to have a view of the parks, so I doubt we'll go to the parking garage. If we're down in the DTD area, the Esplanade sounds like the way to go. We're not expecting to see the whole show, but if we can see a few, it'll give us that tease. Thanks again, everyone, for the ideas.
