Best place to take picture of Castle?

We are headed down to Disney for Thanksgiving week, and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips for good castle locations.

I wanted to take a picture of my two kids, wearing Santa hats, with the castle in the background, to use for Christmas cards this year.

I was hoping for some suggestions where there wouldn't be tons of people in the background, just the castle.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I like the bridge to Liberty Square and the walkway from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland (the one that goes right by the castle). I sort of like the walkway from the hub to Tomorrowland. There is usually a tree in the rose garden by the castle that looks nice. It is kind of difficult to frame a shot with both it and the castle though. Try to get it out of the way early so that you have the nice morning light and the crowds are smaller. Late afternoon light is nice also, but there will likely be more crowds to deal with.

I got a wonderful shot of DD in late afternoon behind the castle, walking toward Liberty Square. Specifically, we were at the tables of the little restaurant where they sell funnel cakes (you know the smell and you're in the right place!). The castle and water were behind DD with the tree framing the right hand side of the picture. DD's head was in the left hand corner and you could see almost all the castle in the background. I think I had her stand on one of the benches to get her in the right place. I would post a pic, but I am not computer savvy enough!

Look at postcards for some ideas. Then look for something other than the castle to bring some interest to the photo. Everyone has seen the castle a billion times.

We just got back from Disney today and as ukcatfan said tomorrow land bridge seems to be the best for the holidays because you can get a picture with the christmas tree and castle in the background. Here is one of my wife and son. We took several more that I haven't uploaded yet. I don't particularly like the orange castle and I would edit out the tree. The other night they had snow flakes on the castle which I wanted in our background but it didn't appear when we took family shots. I think that would be the best.

I'm also a big fan of taking castle pics from the bridge leading to liberty square. I love the castle reflection in the water! Also shooting from main street is nice.

Thank you all so much for your ideas! I will definitely check out all of these locations. I think Main Street will be a no-go though, because of the Garland :(

I can't belive the Christmas tree is up already?

I also vote for the Rose Garden.

I took one standing in Fantasyland with Sir Mickeys building in the foreground, the stalk on the far left of picture with the castle spires seen behind Sir Mickeys. It was good enough to win a ribbon at East Texas Fair. Heard several people say "I have never seen a picture of castle from that view" Made me feel good

Not just the castle, but kinda neat!!! I took the advice of another disboard member. The photo was taken by me on the 13th floor stairwell of the Contemporary Resort.

I like the shot in my sig. My kids were having a blast with the ducks--the real reason for the shot but the castle made it even better.

From the bridge going towards Fantasyland/Toontown...a side perspective, but I like it.

Have you tried removing the cables :thumbsup2
I haven't yet...I've been busy playing around with making videos. I did fuzz out the crane, but it was a quicky job, you can totally tell where I did it and I forgot the wire!! I've got to get to it soon
