We want to leave Windsor, ON on a Sat. and drive about 12 hrs. so that we make it well into Georgia on Sat., spend the night and then finish driving to Florida on Sunday. What is the best clean but cheap place to stay in Georgia, as close to the I-75 as possible.

I don't need anything with bells and whistles, just a place to rest our heads for the night. I probably won't even take the suitcases out of the car because I'm paranoid about bedbugs at any place we stay. An included breakfast would be nice, even if it's just some bagels and orange juice, but it isn't a must.

I'm guessing Atlanta will be more expensive, so if we made it a bit past Atlanta maybe that would be best, but I'm not sure. Last time we drove down we lucked out and got a place just off of I-75 in TN for $50/night, but we want to get past Tennessee this time so that we are closer to Florida on Sunday and don't have as long to drive at that point.

Country Inn and Suites is good in Cordele, the Fairfield is okay but it is very close to the highway and near train tracks. For less money just one hour north of Cordele is Macon, which is one hour south of Atlanta there is Warner robins AFB which is just 5 minutes not miles east on I75. There is a recent built quality suites that is quite good. We had planned on driving I 75 and were going to stay at the new Microtel in Cartersville just north of Atlanta. Now we are driving down 77 to 95 and plan on staying in South Carolina at Microtel. We prefer 77 to 75 because less trucks and traffic and better views. It takes the same amount of time, we have done both many many times.

I've stayed at the Country Inn Suite in Cordele. Its an ok hotel but be sure to get a room the west side, not facing the interstate. As the walls are paper thin and you'll hear nothing but traffic noise from the highway.

Also its one stop down from the Cordele night life... haha.. I would actually recommend the FairField Inn Suites in Cordele or the Quality Inn on 16th. There's lot of ok restaurants around plus there's a WalMart in case you need to get anything.

And while you're in the area, I would definitely recommend checking out the Daphne Lodge Restaurant!!! daphnelodge.com I've eaten there a few times and the food is very good! Be sure to get the Blue Cheese Chips!

we stayed at the country inn and suites as well. It was a nice hotel. We had a room facing the highway and heard the train. Comfy stay, but i am a light sleeper, took a while for me. I think it was there, that there was complimentary ear plugs in our room.
