I'll be staying at the all-star movies with my DH, my mom and two kids 6 & 4.

I am staying at a preferred room. I did request an ajoining room away from the pool but I don't know if I should call and request an actual building instead. I was thinking either woody or buzz. Should I just wait until check in and see what I get? Can I request a building when I check in? Which one is more quiet but close to the bus stop?

Thanks.

We leave 4 weeks today and I'm getting really excited!!

We've always stayed in the Dalmation building. I liked it because it was close to the main building, the Mighty Ducks pool and a closer walk to the next All Star resort. We've never been close enough to the pool to hear any noise. We've never booked preferred rooms, but maybe we were upgraded. :confused3

We stayed in the Woody building in February. It was very quiet, yet close to everything. A great spot to be, but then again I've never had really bad location in all my visits to WDW.

I've not stayed at ASMo, but I wanted to remind you that adjoining rooms are adjacent, and there is no connecting door. If you want the door to open between the rooms, you need to request connecting rooms.

We stayed in the Dalmations. We were lucky and got a room that was right in the middle of the building behind the elevator. It was very quiet. As previously stated both pools are right there as well as good access to ASMu. The walk to the food court was very short. It is so totally Disney themed that I think any building would be great.

I love the Buzz Building. It's really close to the bus stops if you go behind the building. It also saves you from having to cut through the main building.

Stayed in the Herbie Building last year. Location was nice and quite but it was Far from everything. next time would stay in the Dalmation's Building like Jaymie says. The Mighty Ducks pool is pretty cool and it is close to the main hall.

Herbie is the farthest from everything.

We stayed in connecting rooms on the 1st floor of Building #1 (Dalmations). We liked our location. It was a short walk to pretty much everything and very quiet.

We have stayed in the Fantasia buildings and in the Herbie buildings and liked both of those. We have stayed in teh Mighty ducks areal also and it was great to we haven't really had a stay there that we didn't like.

I asked my travel agent. I'm using caa and I mentioned I wanted two rooms that were connected though a door and she said that's what adjoining is. I'm going to call her again and see if she can change our reservations to say rooms to be connected with a door in between. Is it possible if they have us in two rooms not connected when we check in to get moved to rooms that are? We are arriving the day before and staying off site for one night so we will be checking in early. I hope this makes a difference.

It sounds like whatever room I do get should be good. there were only preferred rooms left when I made my reservations so I had no choice.

Thanks.
I finding these boards so helpful.:goodvibes

::yes::
The word used in the hotel industry in the States is connecting rooms. If you check in and find that they are indeed adjoining, you can ask for connecting, but, depending on the time of the year, the connecting rooms might not be available. Better to have it on your ressie now. And if your TA says they mean the same thing....she's wrong. (Been burned by that, so I know ;) ) The same thing goes with the choice of building. You can ask when you get there, and it may or may not be available. Going preferred means you'll be close to the main building, so I'm sure you'll love whatever you get, anyway.

You are going to have a blast, whatever happens. Your attitude-positive and willing to overcome any problems that arise-along with the fact that you are there with your loved ones makes the trip magical :wizard:

Woody & Buzz are not preferred rooms (at least they weren't when we went). We stayed in Buzz (Building 10 I believe) and it was great, very very close to the bus stop - actually has a short cut that you can go there directly without walking through the main section.

The Toy Story buildings are now 'preferred' as are Dalmations and Fantasia. Anything within 500' of the main building is preferred.

I agree 100% :)

I called my ta at CAA and mentioned my concerns. She said she called Disney and got them to change our reservation to now say connecting with a door but did say it was not guarenteed. Hopefully all will be good when we check in my mom is staying in the room by herself so I really need the connecting room.

thanks for your help.

We stayed in the Dalmation building #1. It was great. Our room was preferred and faced inside (toward the inside walkways and pool). There was never any problems with noise as there are trees to block the pool noises. We loved this location. In my option, the Toy Story buildings are a bit farther away and the Fantasia building are right beside the pool so the noise may be a problem if you face the pool. It was a 30 sec walk to the main building which was great for bringing food back to the room and close to the bus stops. The whole room was themed in the Dalmations too which was a great unisex style room, both son and daughter loved it.

Good luck! Happy Trip Planning.
