We are going soon (a little less than 2 weeks!!!!!), and we will for sure watch the Aladdin show. We are looking forward to it. Where do you like to sit? I think I remember reading that the first balcony is a good spot, but now I don't remember. Is there a trick to getting into the best sections? Please let us know so we can get to some nice seats without breaking the rules or being rude! :goodvibes

It's been a while since we were there, but we sat near the front of the second section of seats (there is a lower section, then a wide walkway, then a second section). It was great! You could see well and a few times characters came out into the walkway during the show.

There are three separate queues depending on whether you want to sit in the balcony, mezzanine or orchestra.

If you can get near the front of the mezzanine you get a great view of the flying carpet - you can almost reach out and touch it!

The orchestra seats probably get a bit more of a view of the elephant when it comes in - so it's a trade off.

We sat third row of mezzanine in the middle and it was better than when we were in the orchestra I thought, because of the great view of the carpet.

My favorite if I don't have preferred or VIP seating (which gets you a front row seat to the Prince Ali parade), is front row center of the Mezzanine section.

We will likely have the "preferred seating" for Aladdin through our package. Is this actually a section of seats or do they just let us in first so we get first pick of seats?

If it is a "section" for preferred seating, where is it located in the theater and what do you do when you arrive at the theater? If the mezzanine is a great seat, would it be just as short a wait to sit there instead of where the PS puts us?

We have seen Aladdin several times and it is one of our favorites. We have preferred seating tickets for our upcoming trip and I, too, am wondering how it works? If the seats are actually better?

When we were there it was a pick of the seats. We stood in a line with no shade, mid August. Love the show but the cue was a miserable experience.

Another vote for for Mezzanine section...front row if you can. When I was there last week. we got in line early but they were directing everyone to the Orchestra section...probabaly to see how much it filled up first. Once that section started to fill, they opened the line for the Mezzanine section. We jumped the chain and got in line for the Mezzanine section. The CM didn't seem to mind since we had already talked to her and told her we wanted to be in that section. We were lucky enough to get front row where you get a perfect view of the flying carpet and can look down onto the Prince Ali Parade.

Is the queue marked with signage so preferred seatholders know where to go?

Whether you have priority seating or not I suggest lining up at least 40 minutes before showtime. There's usually a good size crowd of people in the priority seating area, but of course not as crowded as the standard line. The best place hands down is the lower section. You'll see a wide walkway inside separating the orchestra area seating from the section of seats behind it, I like sitting behind the orchestra section because that way you have a better view of the actor procession that parades by during the show. You get to better view of Aladdin & Jasmine's carpet flight too.

I would say the trick is to line up early, then stampede as soon as you go through the doors . Be sure to visit the Toy Story Zoetrope inside the Animation building that's around the corner.

Can I add an important lesson I learned the hard way?

If you have very small children - do NOT got for the mezzanine or balcony. You will have to carry or help your children up SEVERAL FLIGHTS OF STAIRS in the midst of a throng of people pressing you upwards.

This can be a miserable experience if you have more than one small child/toddler and not enough family members along. The kids will get tired of climbing, there may not be enough rails or hands, and you will end up carrying them both up and down. Heaven forbid they have to go to the bathroom. last year, my girls got tuckered out and I had to carry one and hold the other one's hand while she begged about being tired of climbing. I feel I am an extrememly capable mom - we've done WDW with them too, and we go to DL every other week - and that was too much with the push of the crowd clamoring for their seats.

Make sure you get there early and get an orchestra seat.

The same thing would also apply to pregnant women.... (I learned that one, too....)

You will want to take your prefered seating voucher to the podium at the "front door" (its not really a door, but looks like one). They will direct you to the waiting area. They will let the prefered seating people in first, then the rest of the crowd.

Our favorite seats are on the lower level, the first row behind the wide walkway. You'll have a great view of everything.

Thanks everyone! I think we'll shoot for first row of the mezzanine level. Will the queue for this section be clearly marked? Or will we have to fight for it? Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I have a 9,4,2 year old. Where is the best spot to sit with a 2 year old boy who can't sit still?

when we booked a Disneyland vacation package we got preferred seating at special shows. We don't go till June and have never used it before. This is new to me but that is what I was told when I booked.

Here's a thread where the Aladdin balcony seating was discussed:

The "trick" is bearing to the left & moving around & past the slow moving herd of lemmings going down the first stairway to the right. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tips. I have been to CA once and did not get to see Aladdin that time.

Thanks to all for the tips and Hound for the link to the other thread. I've heard great things about this show -- I just hope it's running when we are there in October!!
