They had a big sale on apple laptops where I work

Put a deposit down and now DD17 needs to raise the cash. She wants to sell two American girl dolls and some stuff. Craigslist or any other suggestions? She also wants to sell her outgrown bike.

I was thinking of putting the bike in the yard with the for sale sign

She also has a speedo tech suit worn 1x. Thinking if posting that at the pool

Anyone who has sold this type if stuff- I would welcome suggestions

Ebay - which dolls are they?
Historical? GOTY?

Kit and the colonial girl one (blond can't remember her name). Does it make a difference if the doll is from pleasant company before they sold out ? I also have some if the books autographed by valerie tripp who wrote the books for the historical dolls

Elizabeth - she's retired so may fetch a good price. We're at the beginning of the summer slump, they'll go for more if you wait till late October.

eBay is your best bet with collectibles. People will bid the price up if it is a good item, and you usually come out ahead even with feeds. With Craigslist you may be leaving money on the table if you set your price too low.

I will agree it is a bad time of year to sell. Everyone is spring cleaning and getting ready for garage sales, so there will be more competition.

My mom wanted an AG doll for my niece near Christmas and they were definitely more expensive then. There's more of a demand for them.

I just had my mom purchase a Pleasant Company Felicity at a yard sale in the box for $80. She's retired and pre-Mattel so I thought it was a pretty good deal. My niece's Caroline (my mom ended up just buying through the catalog)definitely didn't feel as nice and was skinnier (so weird) than the old dolls, so I wanted a PC doll for our daughter. So yeah, Pleasant Company definitely goes for more and collectors know what they are looking for.

But ebay is definitely the place to sell and the more you have with it (books/clothes) and the better condition, the more you're going to get. I'm really glad I saved my Samantha and Addy (with their clothes and furniture) because I wouldn't want to pay to get our daughter one of the newer ones, or the price of a retired doll!!!

I belong to an AG message board called AGPlaythings. There is a thread for selling items. You can try there if you are interested in joining.

If you are set on selling the AG dolls, then disregard this.

I VERY carefully repackaged and stored all of DD's AG dolls for my own grandchildren, hopefully someday. They are such good quality and precious, I want to keep them in the family. Plus the idea of my future grandchildren playing with DD's dolls really gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Maybe I'm just an emotional softie?

For our next cruise my daughter sold outfits only on ebay and made a ton of money, you just need to be aware of what the item goes for. Good luck

I would sell the bike and the suit on Craigslist and the dolls on Ebay or Amazon. We have an Amazon seller account and list and sell new and used items and the items tend to move quickly.
