Hello All-
We'll be staying at a standard view 2 bedroom at Kidani Village next week. Can anyone recommend the best area(s) to see animals in the afternoon/evening hours at Kidani and Jambo House? We'll probably be at the Parks during the morning hours, so we'd like to be able to see the animals around dinner time. Thanks to all who respond !:confused3

The animals are always around the lobby/Sanaa around 4-5 each afternoon. That is the time that they give them special food each day, according to the guide working by the firepit last week. When we stayed at Kidani, we never saw any animals from our room, they mostly stayed by the lobby. We were just at JH last week, and mostly saw the animals around the pool area, and on the Sunset savannah, in between Kidani and JH. Our savannah view room overlooked the JH lobby, and we hardly saw any animals during our stay. We have had very bad luck with our savannah view rooms!

There are places everywhere. I know around dinner time they would feed the animals so a good place would be by the firepit at Kidani. We stayed in a SV room on the side close to Jambo and you could see them out all the windows in the hallway. By the pool was another place we saw a lot of the animals.

this makes me nervous as we have booked a SV 1BR at Kidani. Kids are really excited to see animals from our balcony. Is there a certain view I should ask for?

If you want to see giraffes from your room, then don't ask for the Pembe savanna. But if you want to see Okapis, then ask for Pembe.

I think that most everyone requests the same thing - close to lobby, 2nd or 3rd floor. Not everyone can have those rooms, so most people get the other views. We still enjoyed spending time on our balcony even though there weren't many animals outside of our villa on either of our AKV stays.

We, too, requested 3rd floor near the lobby, and got 3rd floor far, far away from the lobby. But we enjoyed our ankole cattle sleeping outside, and once had 5 giraffes, including 2 younger ones outside eating from the browse boxes. We always saw animals up at the firepit, and around 3-4 in the Pembe savanna at the pool. Try to get to some of the pool games -- the CMs at Kidani are the best.

We got very lucky with out SV room. It was FAR FAR away from the lobby but we didn't care at all. We were actually on the second floor and we were the second to last room on that floor towards Jambo. We actually had about the same walk to Jambo as we did to Kidani's lobby LOL. I would totally ask for that room again too. We always had animals right at our balcony. One night we came back to the room and there were 5 zebra sleeping just below us. We could have sat out there all day long just watching them all.

Oh man now I miss "Home"

ask for a sunset savannah view room, on the lobby level (2) near the lobby

I knew to ask for the lobby level thanks to disboards. if you are on the top levels you tend to look at the tree tops.

we had GREAT animal viewings from our room (2BR savannah view)

We were in a 2BR sav view room this past March. We were on the 2nd floor, just to the left of the lobby and it was great.

However, if you are not in a savannah view room, the best place to see the animals is in the firepit area in the daytime. You're really "out there" with them. Our last day, we spent a little time out there while we were waiting for ME and I got some of the best photos. Going to the firepit at night is really neat too, but you really can't see much of the animals.

Enjoy your trip!

If I already made a reservation for February at Kidani, 2bdrm SV, can I add a request for 2nd floor Sunset view to my reservation??? I didn't know to ask for anything! Thank you!
