I hear that there are several locations in the area to rent 'water mice'...but what's the best for kids that want to 'drive'? Even if it's with an adult needed.
We just want a place that has a lot to offer.

DTD? CR? Poly? WL?

Also considering parasailing for the 15yr old. Is he old enough? How much is it? Where?

Sorry for so many questions....not familiar with recreation activities at all.
THANKS! :flower:

::MickeyMo We like renting the Mouseboats from the Contemporary and then heading for the 7 seas lagoon. I believe kids can ride, but not drive. You need to provide a valid driver's license. Not sure about the parasailing age, but I believe it's somewhere around $100 for a single tandem. ::MinnieMo

The boats you can rent from the hotels around Seven Seas Lagoon(GF, Poly) and Bay Lake (Contemp, WL, FW) are the best ones. These are faster than the boats from YC & DTD. I think, if I remember correctly, you have to be 14 to drive by yourself. I know that under that age they can drive with an adult but I am not sure if there is an age limit for this.

Yep, boats from the Lagoon / Bay lake are better - more room, more stuff to drive around. If you rent at the Contemporary, you have to take the boat over the water bridge to get to the 'MK side' - but if you rent at GF or Poly, you are already on that side. Just depends on where you want to go.

Also, they have a 'length of stay' rental option, where you pay one fee, and ride whenever you feel. I have yet to use it, but I know the option is there.

People tend to make renting boats waaaaay too complicated. Here's the deal--
ALL of the marinas rent Sea Raycers by Sea Ray boats. There's no difference between one resort and another. The water mice are gone. There is no length of stay use of watercraft--it is a maximum of 10 days.

In order to rent a Sea Raycer, you must be 18 and present a WDW resort ID or valid drivers license. In order to drive a Sea Raycer you must be at least 12 years old and a minimum of 5' tall. At the MK resorts there has to be someone with a valid drivers license in the boat--they don't have to drive, just be in the boat. Max. 2 people and/or 320 pounds in the boat.

You can boil it down to...mom or dad has to rent the boat, your 12 yr old can go by himself/herself unless you are at MK, then you need to go with.

Parasailing--Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre at CR. 407 939-0754

Flights reach an altitude of 600 feet and last 8 to 10 minutes
Uniquely designed boat enables take-off and landing from the back of the boat, not from the water!
Parasailing weight requirements - over 110 pounds and under 320 pounds
Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a paying adult
$90 (plus tax) single; $140 (plus tax) for tandem-two persons flight
If non-parasailing Guests wish to ride on the Parasail boat, there will be no additional charge (space permitting).

Yep, forgive me - I call it length of stay as that is what all the cast members called it when they described it to me...
