Best Place To Refuel the Rental Car Before Drop Off?

When heading back to LAX is there a gas station nearby where I can refuel my rental car before dropping it off? I'm renting from Budget on Airport Blvd.

Avoid Harbor Blvd - it's expensive. There are 2 on Euclid that are really cheap, a Chevron at Euclid and Katella and a Shell at Euclid and Chapman. From there you can keep on Euclid going south and hop on the 22fwy West which turns into the 405 North and runs smack into LAX. Euclid runs parallel to Harbour, a couple of short blocks West of Harbour.

I was thinking more along the lines of right at the airport so that the tank is full when returning the car. Not all airports have stations right close.

I just checked my gas receipt from back in August when I was searching for a close-by station. I got lucky and found a Valero at 5800 W. Manchester which is just north of the rental returns on Airport Blvd. Not the best neighborhood in the world but it was very convenient. I checked the distance just now on Streets & Trips and it is exactly 1 mile from Budget.

There are also a couple of gas stations on Sepulveda, south of the airport. Take the 105 to Sepulveda & go left (south), and there will be a 76 station on your left about a half mile down, and just beyond that, on Sepulveda & Mariposa, there will be a Mobil station.

you can take note of the gas station prices when you're in the shuttle going to the rental car station. the closer you get to the airport, the more expensive. i drove around last time for a few blocks to check out prices, i didn't want to go too far since some neighborhoods around LAX are a little 'seedy'.
