At a non-park restaurants / bars? We're going in Sept. First day of arrival, we'll have the late afternoon free, and can't do any parks. Where would be a nice / quiet / relaxing place to catch up with our friends in WDW resorts? We're staying at BWV.

We love the Tambu lounge in the Polynesian. Laid back, beautiful views inside and out, excellent bartenders--strong drinks! Love those Backscratchers!

Poolside anywhere. ;)

The lobby of the GF is also a nice place for a drink. They have a piano player followed by a trio playing music.

You, my good poster, have come to the right place! As a big fan of taking a break in the afternoon for a quick cocktail, I've sampled just about everywhere there is on Disney property!

I have to agree with the poster who suggested "poolside at any resort." Especially if there happen to be kids in your party. They can swim while the adults inbibe. The Poly pool is great, but it can be very loud. The Wilderness Lodge has a fantastic pool area and, even better, there's a spot behind the pool area bar where you can look out across the lake, yet be removed from the hustle and bustle of the actual pool area.

You could also consider, depending on the time of day, heading over to Downtown Disney, or perhaps trying the prew-pub over on the Boardwalk.

Well, staying at BWV - you have a number of excellent choices.

1. The Belle Vue Room right off the main lobby at BWI is a great place to have a drink. You can sit inside and enjoy the nice comfortable sofas & chairs, or take it outside on the balcony and sit in one of the big rocking chairs.

2. Leaping Horse Libations at the BW pool is also a great choice. The CM there are super friendly and you can just gather around the bar or move to a table near by at poolside.

3. You might also walk around the lagoon and visit The Crew's Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club. It is a nice place with big oversized leather chairs & sofas - as well as tables, chairs & booths. This is our favorite place.

4. Depending on how late in the afternoon you might also try Martha's Vineyard. It is located near Cape May at the Beach Club. It opens late in the afternoon (around 5pm I think). It is a little quiter and is usually not crowded at all.

5. There are also lobby bars at both the YC & BC. Both a small, but usually not crowded. The YC lobby bar is nice - leather chairs & sofas. The BC lobby bar called RipTides is also nice and usually not crowded. Both open in the afternoon, not as late as Martha's.

If you asked for my top 2 choices, #1- Crew's Cup, #2- Belle Vue Room. Have fun & enjoy!!!

And don't forget the bars at espn and big river brewing...nice to sit and have a few drinks at the outside tables overlooking the water at big river.

There is also the swan/dolphin bars within easy walking distance.
