We're going to try our best to get to the park entrance lines early when we visit DLR this summer. Is there somewhere in DTD that sells breakfast goodies that DH can run and get for us to eat while waiting in line?

La Brea Bakery has an express window, and it is near the security lines. If you are staying on-site this is a great spot to grab somehting quick. If you are staying on Harbor Blvd, there is a McD's near the Fairfield Inn.

where are you staying???? some hotels have continental breakfast. if not and you are not a super big breakfast person i'd also suggest bring your own.

We're staying at the JoJo. We've stayed at the Ramada Inn Maingate in the past, which had a continental breakfast, but their rates went way up this year. We can bring milk & cereal from home and place in the fridge, but it's always nice to have something warm & fresh - like a cinnamon roll :) - to snack on while waiting in line.

And if I know us, we'll be running a bit behind schedule. :rolleyes1

Now that I think of it, he's have to go through security again to get to DTD. Silly that I didn't think of that. Maybe we should just stick with McD's on the way.

How early is La Brea open? I thought the DTD places opened after park opening (assuming a 7 am early entry morning).

If our hotel doesn't have the free breakfast we normally hit McD's on the way in. I plan on getting some stuff for the room this time though, but I know what you mean. Sometimes you want something hot! :)

McD's in on the way so that will be easy for you. LBB Express should be open as early as 7, maybe even 6 but I'm not 100% sure. Just a quick fyi, if you don't stop at McD's (I cannot eat there more than 1 day in a row LOL) there is a little place in the hub that you can get hot or cold coffees, muffins, fruit, rice krispie treats and other random yummies, it's open as soon as the park is. :) Right across from the turkey leg/chimichanga cart....

When we went last October, La Brea Bakery was always one of the first things to open In DTD and we grabbed breakfast there at least twice. I highly recommend it. Great bagels and pastries and fresh squeezed juice!

You could always pick up a HUGE muffin from MiMi's. I like the buttermilk spice the best. Yummy crumbles on top. :lovestruc

We've done LaBrea Express for several breakfasts, but I would stick to their baked goods/bagels and coffee/juices. We've tried their eggs, quiches, etc. and honestly we felt they were overpriced and not that great for the price. Their baked goods and coffee were good though, and you can't beat the location.
(Literally in front of security.)

Our FAVORITE was Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express for breakfast....they had the most delicious breakfast sandwiches (scrambled eggs, bacon or ham and cheese on an English Muffin), triangle hash browns, beignets which were AWESOME and my DD's favorite, a kids' Kellogg breakfast box that had milk, cereal in a disposable bowl and fruit (raisins I think) in it. I know they had other things, but this is all we had the rest of our trip as soon as we discovered it. This is what I recommend if you are in DTD.

Otherwise, McDonald's would probably be our choice, but we stayed onsite, so DTD was convenient for us.

Oh, yeah, if anyone is on the DTD side anyway, I forgot about Whitewater Snacks. They have cinnamon rolls, muffins, coffee, cereal to go, all that good stuff. Just head on in through the GCH entrance by Libby Lu.

Hmmm... don't know what time they open, though.

They open at 7 am, I believe.

Don't forget the Quiznos at the Carousel Inn. They have a breakfast menu that they provide for the extra-cost Carousel breakfast, and the website indicates they are all open for breakfast, so that's definitely an option for a bit of warm breakfast.
