Got my dd 15 the Nook color for Christmas and have been reading on the touchpad myself. What's the best place to download books for a reasonable price? Our small town library doesn't have them yet.

There are many libraries (local & online) that will allow you to open an account from anywhere and checkout eBooks. Usually they require a one time application fee of around $30 though.

Most of the public libraries in Louisiana belong to a regional network that does have an Overdrive account. Check with the head of your town branch and ask if they belong to a network; many times clerks and/or will not be aware of these networked arrangements, but the person in charge will know.

You can search for freebies at www.nookbooks.com - just put 0.00 in the search line and then sort by most recent. I also use pixelofink.com and Books on the Knob websites. I rarely purchase a book and get freebies as often as I can.
