best place to eat in epcot?

Our favorites are Le Cellier, Biergarten and Chefs de France. We also like Yakitori House for counter service and DH like the Mexico counter service, La Cantina. Teppanyaki is good, but we have a better hibachi place by our house that's cheaper too. Can't get DH to try Morocco and I don't like the menu too much either. Used to go to Alfredo's, but alas, it is gone.

Actually with all the restaurants we tried on the DDP in April, Coral Reef was one of our favorites and my wife doesn't even like seafood and she liked it!

me too! I don't eat any seafood but I love the Coral Reef (maybe because I got engaged there) it is just so amazing on the inside. I was happy just looking at my surroundings but the service and food was also great!

The four of us like Biergarten in Germany for variety and entertainment and the cafe in France where you walk through and select items a la carte(chocolate mousse, quiche, croissants, wine, yum:thumbsup2 ) Coral Reef is also very good and has a nice background with the aquarium.

okay: so here's my dilemma. last time we went to epcot, we thaught...well, we're just go for the afternoon, then stay over so we can see the eluminations parade. we rode test track, space ship earth, mition space but after riding sorin, we decided on food. we didon't know the best place to eat for families...and by this time, it was like half an hour away from eluminations. we ended up eating at this strange place near the living with the land boat ride, with a server...sounded like her mouth was taped....it was horrible. the food just sucked.... when we go this year, i want to find somewhere good for families, with good service...preffably waiter service, near the eluminations point, so we don't have to rush around the park like some kind of cookie monster while looking for something to eat. lol

So far, I have been able to eat at the TS in Mexico, Germany, Morocco, France, and Canada as well as the Garden Grill at the Land. My personal favorites were the Biergarten in Germany and Le Cellier in France. For families, I have to say I will always recommend the Biergarten. The reasons are several fold. One, it is a buffet but with some interesting options. Thus, you can dictate the pace of the meal rather than the server. It has some very fun entertainment offerings (the past couple times I went, almost all of the kids in the place were out dancing on the dance floor). Plus, if you have any inclination for beer - this should be your stop. They celebrate it throughout the show.

One point about choosing a viewing spot for Illuminations, try not to let the country dictate your spot but rather where the wind is blowing. If you have the ability (sometimes with large crowds or small children, this is not an option), try your hardest to be on the side of the lagoon where the wind is blowing away from you. I have seen Illuminations more times than I can count and I have NEVER had very good luck when in the UK, France. The wind always seems to be blowing that direction and makes the show somewhat unbearable... nothing like trying to enjoy a fireworks show while choking on a slowmoving cloud of smoke. My best luck has always come in Mexico, Norway/China, or Germany. The most wide open viewing areas free of trees/obstructions/etc has to be the stretch of path from Mexico to China. So my suggestion is to eat wherever you are going to eat and then go somewhere else to find a viewing spot. Finally, there is a viewing area at the very beginning of the world showcase which the show was meant to be viewed from. It also allows for a somewhat quick getaway as it is the closest viewing area to the exit. However, it is very popular and tends to fill up quickly (it also has a tendency to be closed off for banquets/conventions/private parties).

Hope this helps a little.

Garden Grill, where you ate near the Land, is seriously one of the worst restaurants on property. :( It's no coincidince you were able to get in lol.
.

i may be wrong, but isn't this one of the character dining experiences? we were going to do this on our upcoming trip as we've yet to do one. is the food really THAT bad?
