Best place to eat in Aminal Kingdom

What do you think is the best table service restaurant in Animal Kingdom? We are on the free dining plan late Aug. and made reservations at Tusker House. Good choice?

Yes. While Yak & Yeti sounded great on paper, our several visits there have been disappointing, and progressively so. Tusker House was always great when it was QS, and is still great now that it is TS buffet.

This isn't a tough choice for me because I've only eaten in one---Tusker House.
I had lunch there in 2008 and enjoyed it--good food/good service.

I haven't had the chance to try Yak & Yeti, but Tusker House holds more appeal to me for some reason.

Personally, I won't ever consider Rainforest Cafe an option--ever. I hate it. To me, it's a glorified TGIFriday's. There is a Rainforest Cafe in my local mall, so it doesn't interest me on vacation.

Tusker House is good - it's a solid buffet. I absolutely LOOOOVE Yak & Yeti though!!! The food, drinks, and theming are all excellent there!!!

Smart decision, we dont have around and ate there in 2008. We were on th DDP and paid OOP for it. What a waste! I would have been so much more happy going to Chili's. THe atmosphere wasnt even enjoyable. We never eat at AK other than CS and we love Flame Tree, but we have heard from friends that TUsker House and the DOnald bfast is good.

Can't say anything about Tusker since we've never dined there.

But we do lunch at Y&Y each trip and no plans to change that routine.

I've never been to Tusker House, but I have heard great things about it and have an ADR for my trip in November.

My family's favorite place at Animal Kingdom is Flame Tree BBQ. Husband and kids love the ribs, and I love the chicken. My all time favorite dessert in all of Disney World is there, too--the sublime key lime pie. If you are a big fan of key lime pie, it will likely be one of the best if not THE best you've had.

Although I've never done TS in Animal Kingdom, Tusker House would be my first choice.

My husband wouldnt touch the food there at lunch or dinner (yes, hes that picky). and there arent too many dining choices at AK, so we always do a 9AM Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House and fill up there, have a mid day snack or share something to hold us over, and do dinner somewhere else after we leave the park, since is closes early anyhow. There arent too many choices for dining at AK.

We did this, and it worked out beautifully. All 5 of the kids that were with us loved Tusker House, There was something for everyone. The desserts are amazing, and service was excellent. It was my DH's birthday and they brought out a special dessert and signed card.

I would love to eat there again!

We ate at Tusker House for lunch on Wednesday. It was good but my kids said they would rather have eaten at Flame Tree BBQ.

On our last trip to AK we didn't get to have any QS there, although we did go to the Rainforest Cafe.

We don't have Rainforest here so we always try to go to one when we're on holidays, although this Rainforest was alright it was nothing special and we won't be returning this time (partly because it's not on the DDP, and also because the food wasn't that great and we'll get another chance to eat at a Rainforest Cafe somewhere else)

This trip we've booked Yak & Yeti for our TS meal in Animal Kingdom, decided if we weren't going to do Rainforest or T-Rex we might as well do something from that group of restaurants, and the menu and reviews looked good enough. Since we're on the DDP, cost isn't a problem so we decided to go to the more expensive buffet as Boma, I have heard that Tuskers and Boma are quite similar in their fare, and it also gives us a chance to check out the Animal Kingdom lodge.

For CS, we are planning on doing Flame Tree BBQ one day, and on another day we might do the Picnic in the Park if its available, otherwise we will have to look around and find something that we like.

After 2 disappointing meals at Yak, we are back to Tusker House. It's a buffet and noisy but the food is decent.

We really enjoyed the lunch at Tusker House. I was not impressed by the food at Rain Forest Cafe -- it was a long wait, and nothing too special. I've never been to Yak & Yeti, so I'm no help there.
