Where should I take my boyfriend for his very first night EVER at Disney World? I want to make a good impression.

It depends on his style and how you want to impress him. Do you want to show him classic Disney fun? Then go for a character meal or dinner show like the Hoop Dee Doo, Chef Mickey's or the Poly Luau. Do you want fun but no set show? Go to Ohana's, the Biergarten or Whispering Canyon (the WL is also impressive). Casual buffet with a little difference, then Boma's is a good choice. If you want a gourmet meal with a bit of romance how about Artist Point, Chefs de France or Citricos.

I know my husband loves the buffet at Cape May Cafe. It's at the Beach Club (you can walk there from Epcot). Trail's End at FW is good to. Not overly fancy but good food. Where are you guys staying. If say at WL Whispering Canyon is really good (love their burgers). Go on to Deb Willis's site www.wdwig.com for all the menus for every restaurant at WDW. It's broken down breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Wow his first trip to WDW, you are gonna have a blast.

I'm taking mine to Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast our very first morning. Granted we are 32(him) and 29(me), I think it will be very Disney-esque! Then off to O'hana for dinner...you can't go wrong with unlimited portions of food! ;)

Hi there..

I would drag him straight to the Castle at MK... can't more Disney than that... they have a good dinner menu with prime rib, chicken etc... nothing too weird.

>>^..^<<

If he's not a big Disney freak, you may start him out slow. Take him to the ESPN Club, let him soak that in for dinner (great burgers, cold beer), then walk it off by going to the International Gateway, then hitting the Boardwalk after dark. He'll be hooked!

I would definitely hit Cindy's castle for dinner. What better way to break him in than to eat a meal fit for a king while viewing beautiful fireworks through stain glass windows of the castle!
Now that's magic!

Depends on where you will be that day. If you are going to be in the Magic Kingdom, I would recommend Cindy's (ask for a window table). If you'll be in EPCOT, then I would recommend either the Rose & Crown (make 7:30pm ressies and request a patio table to view Illuminations) or Le Cellier. If you'll be at MGM, then I would recommend the 50's Primetime or Sci Fi. If you are not going to be in a park, then I would recommend O'Hana's for dinner, then (if showing) view the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. The Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary is excellent. Over at the Boardwalk, I would STRONGLY recommend Spoodle's (EXCELLENT), then stroll along the boardwalk (maybe take a surrey bike ride?). Over at the Yacht Club, I would recommend the Yachtsman Steakhouse. If you'll be over at DTD, then I would recommend the House of Blues.

No better spot than the California Grill. Good food, excellent view--very Disney.
The castle is also a good choice--but be aware of their non-alcohol policy. To some (like me) that takes away from what would ordinarily be a fine meal.

I would also recommend California Grill - right in the heart of everything with a fabulous view. Excellent food, wine selection and service! Of couse it comes with a bit of a price tag, but we've never been disappointed.

If you're taking it slow and want a different perspective of WDW I might think about Flying Fish, Jiko or Palio. I hesitate with Palio as its in the Swan and wouldn't really immerse you in Disney, but its a really nice dining experience - maybe for another night or trip!

If you want more casual I would go with O'hanas or Kona Cafe. Again right in the heart of original Disney.

The best meal we have had at WDW so far hands down has been at Le Cellier. Romantic atmosphere and great food. Then head over to see Off Kilter and a stroll around world showcase. If that doesn't get him hooked, dump him.;)

Since we don't usually get in until late afternoon we always spend our first night at Downtown Disney and hands down the best restaurant there is House of Blues! Great food, Great Atmosphere, and not too far from the World of Disney! :D

Another vote for California Grill. If you time your meal to coincide with the fireworks at MK it is a never to be forgotten experience.

Definitely California Grill. You have the monorail, the Contemporary, and the view of the Magic Kingdom and the Castle-- basically images that everyone knows and expects to see on their first trip to Disney. Walt's spirit is just floating around that location. Then you have the restaurant itself-- great, grown-up, and sophisticated, and will assure the first-time adult visitor that DW welcomes grown-ups, too.

The answer to this really does depend on what he's in to. And how old is he? I agree that the ESPN bar is a great spot if he's a real man's man. The food is just OK, but the atmosphere is great, especially if there's a game on. The BoardWalk is a great evening spot for couples and Spoodles and Flying Fish Cafe are both really good.

Downtown Disney is another good evening spot - you could try Wolfgang Puck's (DTD Westside) or Rainforest Cafe (DTD Marketplace).

If you are looking for the meal to be the highlight, then I would recommend Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge (with a stroll around the resort and a drink at the Victoria Falls lounge beforehand), or California Grill for an amazing panoramic view of WDW with equally amazing food.

Oh, man, I must protest Deb! With pre-packed taco chips, canned chili, processed cheese, and freeze-dried onions, the nachos at ESPN are the PERFECT prepackaged food!

OK, so I don't notice taste when I'm watching big screen....
