Where is the best place to try to be to see the kiss goodnight. We have a 6:20 Character dinner at 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian) on 6/2/03. Park shows to close at 9:00 that night per the website.

We had a 7:00pm ressie and thn went right out to the dock to watch ELP, than saw the good night kiss from there. It was a 9pm parking closing. It worked out terrific! The dock was nice and quiet.

Enjoy\

InstImpres, you mentined ELP. I assume this is the Electric Light Parade. When did you go? I was under the impression there was no ELP anymore, just the occasional Fireworks show (twice weekly?)

Geeper I just checked the Disney web site and on Jun 4 and 7 they have Spectromagic.

The Electric Water Pageant is still going strong and it travels around the lagoon at various times. Check here for more info.

Last time I caught the Kiss Goodnight, I was standing at the hub. It was beautiful and tearful. I will say though that they had spectromagic at 10 and I think it was nearly 11:30 before they did the Kiss Goodnight.

cindala, the Kiss Goodnight is when the castle does a different adn rapid change of colors along with a cute narative played over the speakers. Here you can see colors and sequences that I never get to see otherwise. It is a great way to end the day :)

helenabear,
Thanks for the explanation. It sounds wonderful! Is it exactly after the fireworks, or at closing? I know sometimes the fireworks are before closing time.

Sorry that was my wish type...I meant EWP -Electric Water Parade. It is dated but the kids loved it as much as anything else.

The ELP can be seen in my living room on occasional nights (from the DIS Gallery Collection) with full music and all. That is how my DD and I get our disney fix;)

I cannot find a link to the EWP on the Disneyworld.com website. Anyone know where to find info?

helenabear, where did you scheduling info come from?

Here's the info:

The Electrical Water Pageant is a nightly display for the Magic Kingdom Area Resorts.

The pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights featuring King Neptune and creatures from under the sea in an aquatic parade set to Disney music._

_

Flags and Stars -- The pageant concludes with an inspirational salute to America, with_ Flags and Stars set to a patriotic musical score.

It was originally presented for the dedication of the Polynesian Luau on October 26, 1971._

Although the pageant generally follows the schedule below, check with the Guest Services Desk at your Magic Kingdom Resort for times during your stay.

_

Polynesian Resort -- 9:00pm
Grand Floridian -- 9:15pm
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35pm
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45pm
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05pm
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20pm (only during extended MK park
hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9:00pm, the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

I saw the Kiss Goodnight right in front of the castle in February. Close was at 9pm, they also had Spectro at 9pm, we waited around afterwards and saw the Kiss Goodnight at 10:00pm. It was really special, hardly anyone else was around except for cm's cleaning up (you wouldn't believe how many people just dump the rented strollers, they were gathering them up at the hub). Afterwards, we walked down an almost empty Main Street. The only thing still open was the Emporium and they closed the doors after we walked in. Quite a few people still in there.

By "the hub" what are you reerring to? Haven't been to WDW since 1981, so not up on the lingo

"the hub" is the circle in front of the castle. There are walkways to all 4 lands from there (Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland), hence the term. In the center of "the hub" is Walt & Mickey's Partner Statue.

A CM told us the best place to view it was from the Swiss family tree house. We didn't stay in the park long enough to try it though.
