Best place to buy travel insurance (Ontario)

Looking for a reasonable place to buy Travel insurance for the 3 of us! We do not need medical as I have a great plan through work!

What travel insurance are you talking about? If you don't need medical i'm not sure what your asking about. Your car insurance will cover your car in the USA. I would however look into your medical insurance most company policies dont cover family and only cover you when your on a buisness trip. We always have extra medical insuranse when traveling abroad. World travel protection. The company is Manulife Financial. It has better coverage than blue cross and many others. So my wife says lol

I have a Blue Cross Medical Plan that covers me world wide wether on a business or family vacation.

I am looking for Trip cancellation / Trip Intruption / Lost baggage...etc...

Not sure if you know but if you have 2 Medical insurance policies one voids the other! ie: I have my Blue Cross plan then i go out and buy the medical insurance from another company. I can not use my blue Cross plan....I can only use the secondary policy I purchased! So buying extra insurance isn't always the best when you can't use one policy anyways

CAA has a non medical vacation package....includes everything you need and NO medical. Whether or not you can still purchase it for this trip will depend on when you booked the trip, when you are travelling, etc. The typical rule is within 48 hrs of booking but there are times when a late authorization can be obtained. Not sure if other companies have the same rules.

Our of country medical bills can rack up very quickly and have been known to run out. Other than CAA when you book your trip you can purchase cancalation insurance through your travel agent. Thanks I was aware of one canceling the other. My wife is a (GULP) Insurance Broker so she gets what we need. I have insurance through work when im on company time but not family. Thats why i asked that question. You can also try your broker or insurance agent. If you have been with them for awhile they might have a travel plan and you might quialify for a discount. Good luck on your search.

We purchased insurance from President's Choice for our recent trip to Europe as it was about 30% cheaper than what was offered from CAA and covered more components of our trip. The only issue I had with PC was that in order to get the cruise insurance, you have to purchase the comprehensive plan which includes medical coverage (we also have medical coverage through my husband's work). It was still much cheaper than any other places I checked. I would only purchase insurance if you have booked a package vacation or a cruise vacation where there is a chance you may miss your connection to the ship. Otherwise it is not really worth it as you can cancel any hotels or car rentals you have booked and many airlines will give you a flight credit if you need to cancel your flight.

We ar doing a direct flight out of Buffalo on the 15th.
Cruise leaves the 17th.
so we have 2 days of play before we depart in Orlando!

A cruise awesome. Have a great time. Please give us a trip report when you come back. We've always wanted to cruise but always end up on a island or disney lol
