Best place to buy movies (DVD/BluRay)

Where do you buy your movies?

I usually just wait half a year for anything I want and ask for them for Xmas/Birthday, lol. The only think I don't mind paying more for throughout the year is the Disney pre-orders.

Anyway, I'm obsessing about finding movies at a good price.

If it matters, I'm specifically looking for Mickey's Once and Twice Upon a Chrismas. I saw them both at Target for $15 and Amazon is about the same. Is that the best I'm going to do (don't mind paying that, I'm just not sure what DVD's should cost these days).

$15 is about right. The thing is, you always get a break on prices if you buy movies ON the release date, specifically at Target, which always sale prices new releases for the first couple days (until Saturday of that week...new movies come out on Tuesdays).

Kids DVDs will run anywhere from about $5-20, depending on what it is.

We just use Netflix mostly. The instant stream service is fantastic! When we buy, either Amazon or Target.

If you want Bluray deals you want to check www.blu-ray.com and go to the Hot Deals forum - they price track everything. It's awesome.

Walmart always has great deals on movies. Also you can check out amazon and find some really cheap new or used copies. I hope this helps!

I have several strategies, as they relate to Blu-ray releases:

• You will always get the best deal on new releases from Disney and other major studios during "Week 1" at all major retailers -- Disney's coupons, along with the lower-than-usual week 1 pricing makes buying Blu-ray discs a great deal.
  
• I have heard (but not confirmed) that Walmart offers great deals on the first day of release, only.
  
• Amazon.com is good in the fact that they do not charge sales tax (and if you spend $25 or more, you get free shipping).
  
• If you are looking for a slightly older movie, you may want to wait, as prices will drop, over time.
  
• Blu-ray.com is my best tool for pricing, upcoming releases, etc.
