Best place to buy a big birthday cookie?

Any ideas? My ds says that's what he wants for his birthday and my SIL the chef says he doesn't have the right pan to make one. Any experience with Costco, Walmart, Publix?

I have never seen one at our Costco. My favorite by far are the ones Wegman's makes. Nothing can top those!

I had a double layer one that was awesome and the price was fantastic. I can't remember if it was Costco or Sams but everyone loved it and talked about how big/good and cheap it was.

Do you have a Mrs. Field's cookie place in your mall? If so, they make big cookies.

Very good cookie cake at a reasonable price at SAMs. Double layer cookie. Yum. Goes over much better than cake

I think maybe they're regional?, but you're from my neck if the woods, so...Great American Cookie. Sams, Walmart, Kroger etc. don't even come close. They're usually very dry, and the icing is never as good. There are Great American Cookie stores in the food courts in Knoxville Center and West Town.

Agree with the Great American Cookie Company. Not only do they taste amazing, ours will go out of there way to make a design that you want.

My DD thinks she is a mermaid and doesn't let the fact that her birthday is December stop her from wanting a pool party. One year we did the party at the YMCA, rented the pool and everything. I found a "Beach Monkey" theme and took them a napkin for design idea. The decorations were so much better than I even imagined they would be. The kids loved the taste and the design.

All you need is a disposable aluminum pizza pan.

This. Couldn't find a big cookie for dds bday at Christmas. I bought 2 rolls of slice and bake Wal-Mart brand cookie dough. Rolled them out and mashed them together on my aluminum pizza pan. Baked in oven till done. Used canned squirt icing to writhing happy birthday xxx.

Easy cheap under $ 10 and tasty. Took it to a family Christmas party on her bday. Everyone enjoyed it. Nothing leftover.

I make one for DH's birthday every year - he's consistently asked for it for 9 years now. I've had the store bought ones, but honestly, the homemade taste better. I bought a jelly roll pan at Bed Bath & Beyond with a coupon and I swear it was less than $15. Over 9 years now, (and I use it for other recipes, too) so it was a great investment. Just looking online the pans go for $13-20.

The recipe is on the Toll House chocolate chips bag. I'm a cake decorator, but you can easily decorate them from the cake decor aisle at your grocery store. Get the little plastic candle holders as they stay in the cookie much better than trying to shove the candles in there

Thanks for the suggestions. No Wegman's here in the south and I'm not a Sam's member, but if the snow melts, the info about Great American Cookie at the mall will be perfect. I can drive over there at lunch time. Our oven is worn out, so I won't even attempt to bake one myself.

There's not a Great American Cookie Co near me or many other people...so home baking it is.

Most times, home baked items are much superior to any you can buy. For example, my parents make the best cheesecake I've ever eaten (and refuse to give out their recipe). I was simply trying to reassure the OP that she will not regret an American Cookie purchase because she has stated that it is her intention to purchase one. (This is an open forum and she did ask for opinions.) My kids beg for these when we go to the mall and I find them hard to resist, too.

When things are written, other people cannot see tone or body language so I definitely understand that it is difficult to misunderstand someone's intent. I said sorry precisely because I did NOT want to offend. Those cookies are better than any I've eaten but I haven't eaten yours yet!
