I want to get a AP for our trip in March. Is there a store or a web site that the passes are cheaper or should I just buy it on the disney web site?

Also, when should I get it? I don't want to buy it to early but would love to get it soon so I can see if I can get a discount and stay at the disney hotel when we go. Are you able to call disney and get a rate before you buy it?

Thanks. I am SO excited about getting one finally!!

As far as I know, you can call Disney reservations and ask for their AP rates and add a AP at that time. Then when you check in, you just pay for it then.

If you buy it off of the disneyland website before the end of the end you can get a $30 discount if you are buying a deluxe. And you can buy it now and wait until your trip to activate it. And yes, you can book a hotel without the pass in hand. You just have to have it when you check in.

go to: www.disneyland.com/deluxeoffer for the discount. There was another thread floating around recently about the offer.

HTH! :santa:

Oops, that should read "you can get a discount if you buy an AP on the website by the end of the year. :) The discount is good until 12-31 but your AP voucher will be good until Jan. 2010. As long as it's activated before that time you will be fine.
You can call the hotels and ask for AP rates for your dates, the current AP deal is AP8 but I'm not sure how long that goes for. Once you have your voucher you can register on the AP site and see for yourself. :) And yes, if you book an AP rate stay you do need an AP when you get there. :) You can process it after but you will need to show it on your check in day.

If you have access to a Costco in S CA or Central CA, you can buy a deluxe ap for $269. That's the regular rate, but you also get a $50 gift card good for almost anything in the resort.

Are they still out there?

When I booked my room at Paradise Pier for my November trip I did not have my AP yet. I just called and asked for the AP7 rate. I was told that it's fine to book with the discounted rate, but I needed to show my AP when I checked in. I ordered my pass on the disneyland website and printed out the eticket. This is what I showed the CM at the hotel and I was able to receive the discount.

Yes, but you should probably call the Costco you plan to use first to make sure.

I bought one of those and took the voucher with me when I checked into the hotel early evening. I was able to get my ap later that evening in DL but they told me that I could get it the next morning if I had to. They just needed the voucher for verification that I purchased one, even if it wasn't activated yet. Basically, all you have from Costco is a receipt which you then take to the ticket booth for activation and gift card and then into the bank inside DL to get your picture and ap card. It was really easy but the lines were short when I did it.
