Heading to Disneyland and was wondering where the best place is to dine, either in the park, at DTD or at the resorts. There will be 4 adults and no kids.

My suggestions are Blue Bayou (Disneyland) and Ariel's Grotto (Disneyland California Adventure). Those are both my favorite places to dine. A number you can call to book reservations in advance (up to 60 days prior to your visit) is Disney Dining: 1-714-781-3463. Hope this helps. =c)

I went in June and ate at Tortilla Joe's I think it was called. It is in DTD and it is the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. I highly suggest everyone go there and am thinking of making it a everytime thing when I go. I am a AP holder, so that could get pricey but it is that good.

I agree with the previous posts.

For breakfast I personally liked the croissant breakfast sandwich from Club Buzz. It is counter service, but it was delicious. It is over by the monorail entrance which is right next to autopia & buzz light year astroblasters.

After eating in the park for every meal, you tend to want food that isn't so greasy and "fast food" like. I really liked Tortilla Joes, Ariels Grotto, and the Storytellers Restraunt located in the Grand Californian Hotel. I didn't eat at the Blue Bayou so I can't compare that one.

This is the best link I have found for very current menus

Some of my faves we just ate at:
Counter Service:
Bengal BBcue
Rancho del Zocalo
Cocina Mexican Grill (DCA) (lots of nachos at a cheap price!)
Pacific Wharf (good breakfasts at DCA)

Table Service:
Goofy's Kitchen - lots of GREAT food for dinner
Blue Bayou - limited menu, but good food and better atmosphere
Carnation Cafe - great place to grab breakfast and watch the goings on on Main Street, plus we met Oscar!

Also if you don't want to spend a lot one place I like to eat at is White Water Snacks located at the Grand Californian Hotel (you can get there by walking through downtown disney). If you have an annual pass they give you discounts (10%) and they have nachos, soda, hamburgers, foot long chilli dogs and other things. It's less than $10 a meal I believe.

I've only had breakfast at the River Belle in Adventureland (across from Tarzan's Treehouse). They have mickey shaped pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy. It was also less than $10 for pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs.

For counter service I like (love) Bengal BBQ (Adventureland) and Royal Street Veranda (New Orleans Square).

For a sit down-ish place we like Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tommorowland.

My favorites:
~Any character meal - so I don't have to stand in line for autographs (more ride time!)
~Eggs Benedict ala carte at Storyteller Cafe
~Churros all day every day
~Fritters with dipping sauce from New Orleans Square
~Monte Cristo from Blue Bayou (why don't they sell this anywhere else in the park??!!!!)
~The kids loved the bread bites from the Snow White Musical concession stand - also the Snow White apple was delicious!
~We had a great dinner at ESPN Zone - coupons for free kids meals in the CA Fun book that came with my vacation package - and we signed up at ESPN.com for the MVP club and got (free!) the best lunchbox cooler and free game points. The lunchbox went to school today!
~McDonalds fries!! They are always piping hot and so much better than any fries I get from the real McD's.
~For dinner on the go, a pepperoni pizza and dinner salad from Village Haus is perfect
~This doesn't really qualify as eating, but the Margaritas from DCA Pacific Wharf were so very good on a blazing hot day!

Great, now my mouth is watering! :goodvibes

Is Granville Steakhouse at DL Hotel good? It got really good reviews in a travel book.

I like The French Quarter. If you time it right, you can get a live Jazz Band and good New Orleans style food. It is located by between the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean.

Our favorites include:

Jazz Kitchen in DTD (number one choice ;) - love it)
Rainforest Cafe in DTD
Napa Rose in GC
Hooke's Pointe at DLH
Red Rocketts in DL
Carnation Cafe in DL
Corn Dogs in DCA
White Water Snacks (for a quick, tasty bargain) in GC

Have heard only good things about Tortilla Jo's - looking forward to trying it soon. Good luck deciding and have a great vacation :flower: :flower:

Depending how much is in your budget, I really love the French Market by Orleans square in Dland. Love their French dips, clam chowder bowls.

Also favorites of mine- In Dland
Carnation Cafe- very reasonable- Chicken pot pies- Yummy
Blue Bayou- pricey, their food is ok. Steaks or prime rib -good

DTD- ESPN Zone- Love their pasta
Rainforest Cafe- Love their burgers
Hookes Pointe- Pricey but I love their food. Anything you get there will be Yummy!

For a peaceful break from the hectic atmosphere, I thought Hungry Bear (in Critter Country) was great!

Depends on what you're interested in, really. Napa Rose is one of my favorite restaurants in the world, let alone all of Disneyland. ;) But it is SPENDY. You'll want to make a special night of it.

I love eating at Blue Bayou for the atmosphere only. The food just ain't that great, but the ambiance and the view of the PotC loading area is a treat for me. My grandparents would never take us as kids, so as an adult, I have gone nearly every time I am in the park. it is overpriced, but you're there for the experience, after all.

I really loved breakfast at Plaza Inn. Everything on the buffet was prepared wonderfully! I know it is a character breakfast location, and can be crowded early on, but we eat late, so we went in at the end and not only got good food, plenty of selection still left and warm, but we met Tigger and Pooh!

Dowtown Disney:

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is really good for a sit down, more expensive dinner.

Rainforest Cafe is fun and full of atmosphere. They have a variety of food choices, so you should find something you like. They also have great fun drinks alchoholic and non.

ESPN has pretty good food, also, and if you're into sports it has that going for it.

Disneyland:

Blue Bayou has a great atmosphere, but I have to agree with the previous poster-I don't think the food is that good. We've been twice and don't plan on returning. I've thought about going maybe just for desert.

French Quarter in New Orleans is always good and full of atmosphere. They also have the Mint Julips there!

Plaza Inn is ok, but just an FYI, the character breakfast is now Princess, not Pooh.

Pizza Port is one of our favorite counter services-they have good pasta, salads and pizza.

My DH loves to get the Turkey legs from the food carts. The chimichangas are pretty good, too.

California Adventure:

Taste Pilots is pretty good.

We love to get chili cheese fries at Award Wieners.

Pizza Mow Mow also has pizza and pasta like at Pizza Port, but not as much selection. It's nice to sit outside and take in the boardwalk atmosphere.

Hotels:

Goofy's Kitchen has the best character meal for food and atmosphere (Disneyland Hotel).

Storytellers Cafe is ok. They only do the characters in the morning. (Grand Californian)

Minnie's Kitchen at Paradise Pier was ok, but now they've changed it to a Lilo and Stitch theme and I haven't tried it yet. (Paradise Pier)

Counter service is going to be the least money. All of the counter service food in DL is about the same price. It will be about $8 per adult entree, not including a drink. Kids meals are $6 and include a drink. My DH and I usually share one entree, as they are usually large. When it's just me and the kids, I will also just buy a kids meal for myself. Pizza Port is the only restaurant at DLR that has free drink refills, so that can be helpful. We also bring our own water and sometimes our own soda in a backpack. Any restaurant will give you a free cup of ice. Pizza Port will also cut the piece of pizza in half if you ask them. They also serve large salads and pasta dishes (we love to share the pasta). I think a lot of people tend to over buy food when they sit down for lunch or dinner. I always see a lot of waste! If you share or just buy the kid meal, you should be satisfied, and then you can always get a snack later. If I'm that hungry I figure I can always go back and order more food-but I've never had that happen-there's too many good snacks around the park! :earsgirl:
