Which ship do you guys prefer to use in Pirates and why??

I'm just curious, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. My personal fave is the Black Pearl, speed really helps alot in Capture the Flag and it the boat battles, you can avoid cannon fire easier. :)

I usually use the Flying Dutchman for both but i rarely play CTF because when ever i play CTF i always manage to play with CL's and I'm usually dead within 15 secs of starting the game:rolleyes: :upsidedow

he means he plays with " Community Leaders " which in my opinion, yeah they're awesome at pirates. LOL. sometimes, i cant even beat Guests. and No, they're not mules.

Haha, I regularly get my butt kicked at Pirates. I have trouble aiming with the cannons, haha.

What's so special about a community leader??

Well CLs are pretty much experts at the game (so why haven't I been chose yet? lol jk), so that means they're probably kick-butt at the games as well.

I've never seen so many stereotypes in one thread ;)

Just because you play with a CL doesn't mean there's a 100% chance of defeat. Maybe you just need practice. Work hard and maybe one day you'll be kicking CL "poop deck" left and right :thumbsup2

For ship battle I use the standard ship (I forgot what it's called) and for capture the flag I use the Wicked Winch.

A community leader is an experienced player who helps other players out. They all have CL_ in front of their name.

Honestly, I'm not the best with potc. I have a 25% chance of having a good game of ship battle, but an 92% chance at having a good game of capture the flag.

That's a 58.5% chance (and I just play whatever is up and dont wait for specific games). So if you want to play a Community Leader and win, I'm your guy.:teacher:

If I am playing guard I use the big ship. If I am playing "capture role" I use either the fast or middle ship depending on whether I am playing 2 on 2 or more.

The exception to this would be when I play with very specific friends. We have played together for so long, we know how to adjust for one another and the ship really is not an issue, more about filling in where needed as the game unfolds.

I think the key is to know what each ship can do best and use it to your advantages from game to game. (I used to ONLY guard, but it's more fun to change around :) )

I accept that challenge ;) Ren

It depends on the opposing team which ship I play.

A lot of people do not try and "capture";) the true meaning of the game Capture the Flagthey play it to sink all the opposing ships instead of strategy to capture and return flag back to your port. If that is the case I either pick the Wicked Wench or the Flying Dutchman because of their battle strengths.

If I am playing with friends or with opponents that do not choose all battleships then my preferred ship of choice is the Black Pearlshe is fast and strong enough if maneuvered carefully to sink even the best battleship if all opponents are not battle ships.

I like to use the black pearl because speed is the noly thing that cannot be picked up in the game.

I personally like the Flying Dutchman to play with. If you decide to play with the Black Pearl after a few weeks (or months) by using the other two, then it will seem as though VMK has that pause-and-go-fast bug again:laughing: .

I'd have to go with that Wicked Wench! She's quite the party ship, if you know what I mean...

(I honestly read that as 'Best Party Ship,' before rereading it as Pirate)

=====================================

If good ol' Pirate is on his game, he is UNBEATABLE with the Wicked Wench. As long as I have a "competent" teammate who uses Flying Dutchman or Black Pearl, I will always win: no one can get past my awesome defense.

Save perhaps Jegrezo or Mal...

for ctf i like flying dutchman
for sb flying dutch man

i like them both cause they are storng and they got a lot of ammo(:)

I prefer the overwhelming speed of the Black Pearl for both CTF and battles, especially battles. I sometimes get together with 3 of my buddies, we all choose the Pearl, and completley demolish the other team within two rounds.

Call us cheap :rotfl2:

Well, in CTF i normally use Black Pearl for speed. But once in ship battle i used a black pearl and died really fast.. so i now used Flying Dutchman.

There seems to be quite a few CLs on these boards, if you look at people's sigs...

My second choice ship is the Flying Dutchman, I never use the Wicked Wench, you don't need canons if you can dodge, at least that's how I play my games.

But you never get credits for dodging. ;)

I still stand by my ship, the Wicked Wench. Until that blasted EIC lit her up and she sank below the waves...

If only there were an ocean deity that could raise her from the depths...

Pirate'll shut up now. pirate:
