We're off to WDW next week and as I plan every possible detail (and then some :teeth: ), I'm thinking about which photos I MUST take while we're there. Obviously we want the photo of our family in front of Cindy's castle at MK, but what are some others that you ALWAYS try to take when you're there? I love being creative with my photo taking, but I'm afraid I'll be a little overwhelmed with the whole experience and may not be feeling too imaginative! Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

we always try to get one with the kids in a row on the carousel. (or at an angle)

at the fountain outside muppets 3d.
one with the sorcerers (sp?) hat as a back drop.

the fountain at Epcot

the tree of life (usually with the kids "hugging" the ape face

my favorite is still in front of the castle.

happy picture taking

Be aware that depending on where you take your castle picture you may have construction walls in your picture also.

Check my Cinderella castle album on the photo.epson site below for current pictures.

I am taking my dig camera - I love to take pictures and I scrapbook but I don't want to bring home so many that I have too many. How many pictures would a first timer take - The card I have in my camera right now is almost empty and I think I have about 220 left on it.

Thanks - Helen

To me, there can't be too many pics from WDW! In Oct, we took 2 - 356 (I think) cards & filled them both. We did a little deleting at night, in the hotel room, but we mostly saved them all.

Three years ago we had a CM take our picture in front of the tree of life, and it turned out so well we gave copies to our extended family members, as our family picture that year. :cloud9:

I always regret it when we dont have a picture of someone outside their favorite ride, or outside something noteworthy......

Take a ride on the MK/TTC ferryboat. Go to the upper deck, on the MK end, on the left hand side next to the pilot house (specific enough? :teeth: ). On the trip to MK, if the transportation gods are with you, you can get a pic of a ferryboat, cruiser, monorail, train, the train station and the castle. If you take a ride on one of the gold flag launches(MK, poly, GF) you can take a pic of the monorail as it goes up and over the lightshow channel before GF. With the right angle it does look like a "highway in the sky" climbing over the treetops.

Pictures! In December we arrived home with 20 rolls of exposed film plus over 200 digital photos. Now, this was between DD, DH and myself, but I think you get the point that we take a LOT of pictures. And, we've been to WDW 20 times in the last 14 years. There are never TOO many pictures of WDW. I particularly like to take pictures of my kids doing various things.

With the characters at meals
On the carousel
Eating ice cream
Playing checkers in Frontierland (while eating ice cream)
Sitting in the stroller (awake or asleep...the asleep ones are particularly precious)
On their favorite rides
doing whatever is cute at the moment!

Plus, I have a tradition to take a picture of DH while he is taking a picture during the trip. We have a whole series of these from over the years.

Of course the icons of each park get photographed each trip as well. We have many, many pictures of the castle, spaceship earth, sorcerers hat and tree of life. Sometimes with some of us in the picture, sometimes without.

Look in unexpected places for things to photograph. My DH has a series of lamp posts he's taken over the years. Might sound like a silly thing to photograph, but it really is interesting to see the different kinds of lights that are used around the parks and how they are decorated during different seasons of the year.

Try unique angles for your pictures too. And don't forget to have someone take your picture as well. If you're the one in charge of the camera, you need to get in a few pictures yourself. We obviously travel with more than one camera, as a matter of fact usually 3 film cameras, 1 digital camera and a video camera. It's always interesting to let the kids take some pictures as well. They usually come up with an angle and think of taking a picture of things adults would miss, but yet are a lot of fun.

My best advice is to enjoy yourself and look everywhere because photo opportunities will be everywhere! ::MinnieMo

I have 3 beautiful boys (9,7,4), July will be our 2nd trip to Disney World  . On our first trip 2 years ago I took a picture of the boys playing the Congo Drums at AK :rockband: - the Tree of Life was right behind them. I am planning to take the same picture of the boys everytime we return  .

If it is a onetime trip, then just take as many as you can. If you plan on returning, then find a spot that won't be gone next time and take pictures there everytime. Our favorite is of Goofy in front of the Kodak buidling. Honestly, with a digital camera you can't take too many. You can always delete the ones you don't want. Take them of the landscape. Take them of the rides. Take plenty of your resort. Take them of the special events you do. I took 12 rolls of 24 exposure last time we were there. I regret not taking more. I spent over $150 on film developing. It was worth it. When you are spending thousands of dollars on your vacation, you need the photographic memories.

Some of our favorites:
- IllumiNations Cruise
-Castle pictures.
-Character pictures.
-Decor at the Resorts
-DD eating pudding in the little side street by the bakery in MK.
-Parades
-Goofy
-Airport
-Kids on the rides

I'm so excited about having my digital camera this time. We have a 512 mb card, and we are taking the laptop. I can take as many silly pictures as I want.
