Best pen/marker for autographs?

When we went to Disney a few years ago, I remember people here talking about the pens they got for autographs - big and retractable. I had found something similar at the time, but it wasn't exactly what was suggested.

I love the 'retractable' idea, so you don't have to worry about misplacing the caps, and I understand that it's easier for the characters to hold a thicker pen.

I looked at Target today, but didn't know exactly what I was looking for. I saw some Sharpies that were retractable, but I didn't know how well they'd work on paper, or what kind of pen tip would work best.

The markers I had gotten before were different colors, and my son is kind of stuck on that idea - so it would be preferable if they came in a multi-pack of different colors. But I could probably talk him out of that if necessary.

We used the retractable sharpies and they worked great!

Are they the regular size Sharpies, or thicker ones? What size tip?

my DD had this long pen that fit in her little bag & it had a shoe on the top with some feather boa

the characters LOVED it & it was long enough for them to grab with thier big plushy hands

I told my sister to get Sharpie retractable (but I'll have to warn her to avoid green, even though that's one of my nephew's favorite colors, because of the warning I read on this site about the green ones staining the gloves of the characters). At least I think I read it here........

I have a special pen for the Princesses to use (a pen with a Belle "Charm" on the clip) but I really want a big retractable pen with a disney character or characters on it, too. I may end up buying from eBay again (that's where I got my Belle Pen).
