Best Pediatric ER and Urgent Care place near WDW

We we leave in a couple weeks! Soooooooo excited! But I always get nervous someone will get sick, especially my 5 year old with lung issues. What is the best pediatric ER around? And which Urgent Care place is best and close? THANK YOU!

Not sure about pediatric but Celebration Hospital have always been AMAZING with me

If your child has chronic issues then I would check with his pediatrician to bring his/her medical records or at least a letter outlining what should be done for him/her in case of emergency. That said, although they are not close to WDW, there is Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children close to downtown as well as Florida Hospital for Children. You would probably want to head to Celebration Hospital first though and if they decide that a pediatric hospital would be the best place for your 5 year old then they will make arrangements to get you there. They are affiliated with Florida Hospital.

There is an urgent care location right at the exit of Downtown Disney off 535. If you need transportation it will be provided.

The Walgreen's on Irlo Bronson has a great Minute Clinic. We went there with DD& and an ear infection that flared up.

I always check before to see which hospital has whatever specialist we need on staff. Especially when we're talking crazy illnesses needing specialized care, I like to make sure that if I know my child needs xxx specialist, I make sure that the hospital at least as that pedi department. We do this wherever we're travelling.

Also, I ask on the internet in parent groups for each illness. usually I can find a name of a GREAT doctor in just about every major city. If i'm in Chicago I know I need to go to xx hospital and ask for xx doctor.

We have had to go to the CentraCare walk-in over past DTD (I think it's on 536, but don't hold me to that) a couple of times for issues with DD. They have been very good in taking care of us and giving us what we needed. There can be a decent wait time, but that's to be expected for any urgent care.

Thanks! I am starting to get nervous. DD5 is just getting over walking pneumonia. When she is healthy she is fine but if she gets a cold she ends up with asthma and sometimes pneumonia Scary thing is she usually seems fine, just has a cold. But chest X-rays show pneumonia! Leaving in about a week!

We had an emergency ride to Arnold Palmer with DD and they were great. It is a little further than Celebration, but a good pediatric hospital.
