Got a day that has a 90% chance of rain... Staying out of the park is not happening so what's the best park for a rainy day? Right now it's my Epcot day... But I can juggle still ... Thanks :goodvibes

I never thought about it until so many here commented that FP+ inflexibility interfered with quickly changing plans due to things like weather. . . I thought "I'm going to a park anyway, what difference does it make where I get wet?" But I guess if I analyze it, DHS might be a good choice - it has lots of shows like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Muppets and pretty much all their rides are inside. And the park isn't too big, so dashing from one thing to the next isn't long treks in the rain.

I would have said this until earlier this week when we ran into this exact scenario. It poured rain on Monday and it was our only scheduled HS day. Definitely yes on the inflexibility. We would have had to give up our only Toy Story FP if we skipped the park. There were no others available this week. The problem with HS is that it's small. Everyone seeks cover in the same place which makes long wait lines for EVERYTHING.

I would pick Epcot. Lots of places to stay indoors. And lots of places for people to go. I also thing most won't go to Epcot if it rains. Just note, Test Track does not run in the rain.

We were in the MK when it started pouring on Monday and the crowds decreased by quite a bit. We walked onto several rides and had the opportunity to stay on quite a few (riding them 2-3 times in a row, which delighted my kids). We jumped in puddles, got wet and cold and had a blast.

We were in MK on Monday as well and it rained a lot! It was awesome tho. Almost like we had parts of the park to ourselves. We rode Big Thunder over and over again. Almost everything we did that day the wait was under 5 minutes. One thing to mention is that the temps were still in the 70s had it been in the 50s that would have been uncomfortable. We were cold when we left the park at 7 and went to dinner but overall it was totally worth it for low wait times and no crowds to push through.

I agree. We were there Monday and people did not leave when it started raining. Everyone tried to huddle in the same small covered areas and trying to get anywhere was miserable. TSM and the Frozen show were both closed for a while. Everything else had long lines. We waited 30 minutes for Great Movie Ride. At least it kept us out of the rain for a while!

Agree that EPCOT is a good park on a rainy day. Lots of indoor attractions, some of which keep you inside and out of the rain for a good block of time. :thumbsup2

Awesome thanks got the answers everyone ... looks like we will just stay with EPCOT since that was already my plan...

I just asked this same question before my trip about a week in a half ago, lol.
We went to DHS on our rainy day last Monday. It was a lot of rain! We missed Indiana Jones, Honey I Shrunk the Kids playset and Lights Motors Action because of the rain. Our group broke up and some of us went back to the room, including myself with the toddlers. The plus side was that we rode ToT 4 times, RRC 4 times and Star Tours 6 times. I went back to the park about an hour and a half before close while it was still raining and it was pretty empty. Walked on TSM, RRC, Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride all within an hour. We also looked at the Christmas lights and hardly anyone was back there! Aside from missing the outdoor shows DHS worked out great for us in the rain.

Agreed, even though we did leave right after the heaviest downpour (around 4 I think?). But that was mostly because we had planned it as an arrive early/leave early day because we didn't want the kids to have too many late nights and we had 7p dinner reservations.

Epcot, specifically Future World. Each pavilion has about three different attractions inside its building. You'd only really have to brave the rain when it's time to leave one pavilion and go to another.

World Showcase will be more challenging, but you can certainly duck into Mexico during the worst of it. The American Adventure also has both the art exhibit and the show inside one building. You could check out the anime exhibit in Japan and then browse through Mitsukoshi without going outside.
