My husband and I are going for our anniversary at the end of August, staying at Boardwalk. It's a short trip so I'm only making one ADR, I just can't decide where. We're going to every park but Animal Kingdom -- where would you eat one meal in the parks if paying out of pocket? I want it in a park because that's where we plan to spend all our time.

It would be helpful if you gave some guidelines: likes, dislikes, characters, buffet....

MK: Liberty Tree Tavern
EP: Chef's de France (I haven't personally been to Le Cellier so I cannot recommend)
HS: Brown Derby
AK: Tiffins

DS: Homecoming or Paddlefish
Staying on the Boardwalk: Flying Fish or Trattoria al Forno
Just outside MK at Contemporary: California Grill

Le Cellier is always one of our favorites! I’ve heard good things about Tutto Italia but we haven’t been able to squeeze it in yet. I would definitely suggest Epcot since they probably have the most variety of restaurants.

Sci Fi at Hollywood studios is fun but more casual. I haven’t been impressed with magic kingdom’s restaurants lately. We had a miserable experience at be our guest.

If you want to do something out of the ordinary the luau at the Polynesian has good food and is so much fun.

It's not in the parks but since you're at BWI I might do Cape May Cafe for dinner.

Epcot: Spice Road Table
MK: 'Ohana dinner at the Polynesian. LTT is ok. Crystal Palace is ok.
DHS: haven't been there in years so can't recommend

I think there are a lot of decent restaurants at Epcot but nothing really consistent or really great. It seems like you are looking for the 'best' one but I really don't think there is a best one; it depends on your preferences. I see a lot of people recommending Chefs but I've been a few times and the dishes have been inconsistent and not all that great. I think it's more fun eating around the world showcase when at Epcot.

For restaurants anywhere in Disney, price is so variable, themes are so variable, food choice, so variable.

Based on quality, service, and consistency, I would do these if it were me (in no particular order):

Marrakesh
Rose & Crown
Teppan Edo
Biergarten

I would avoid these based on the same criteria:

San Angel Inn
Coral Reef

My wife and I went in January as an adults only trip (loved it). While eating in the park was an option we wanted a bit of a break but without going very far.
Epcot - Restaurant Marrakesh would get my vote, we did this on our DHS day.
MK - We opted to head over to Wilderness Lodge, nice break from a day there, then we came back and closed down the park.
DHS - I wasn't really into the offerings there, I'd be more inclined to go Big River Grille & Brewing Works on the Boardwalk. IMHO DHS is not a full day park, but with Toy Story that might change.

I would do a signature as the food quality and service tends to be better than the more casual TS. My vote is for Monsieur Paul in Epcot. The restaurant is quiet and romantic and the food and service are excellent. Second choice would be Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS.

Another vote for Monsieur Paul. Relatively few kids also (no offense to kids, love them, but you did say anniversary dinner.)

Hollywood Studios- Hollywood Brown Derby
Epcot- Via Napoli, Teppan Edo or Coral Reef( but I would go out international gateway to eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse, Shula's Steakhouse , or Todd English Bluezoo)
MK- Be Our Guest( but I would ride monorail to Grand Floridian and eat at Narcoossee's or California Grill at the Contemporary )

MK: Skipper Canteen - the cachapas appetizer, fried chicken, and "quicksand" dessert are all wonderful
EP: La Hacienda de San Angel - the "hacienda" platter for 2 is excellent and a huge amount of food, great margaritas here, too
HS: Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge (outdoor) - we love the charcuterie, sliders, cobb salad, and cocktail flights, great for people viewing

I would save my pennies, leave the parks and go to Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lounge.

The best in park restaurants are sadly in Animal Kingdom so you'll miss out on those. In the other parks my picks would be Skippers Canteen in MK, SciFi in MGM, and Via Napoli in Epcot. That said if you really want a great meal for your anniversary, I'd consider walking out the international gate at Epcot and eating at Flying Fish or Yachtsman Steakhouse. Two of our favorite restaurants on property!
