Best option for UK buyer to pay final balance on resale

Just emailed transferwise and they only send ACH txfr to USA , back to the drawing board , just don’t want to use Halifax as difference with fees/exchange rate is around £430 may end up just having to go with it 🙁 exchange rate is 1.21 🥺

Could you explain this? My title company said it should be ok? Also what website did you use to check Halifax's rate?

Hi there,

Unfortunately ACH is the only way we send out USD to bank accounts in the US. We won't be ab;e to pay out an other way. I'm afraid we won't be able to help you with this payment.

But if there's anything else we can help you with let us know.

Thanks,
Also went on Halifax app( my online banking) and u can see how much it costs to send to USA

Thanks - where is it on the online banking app?

I used Revolut for my resale back in December. Revolut is a competitor of Transferwise.

However as the title company only had transfer information which didn’t allow an ACH transfer, I had to call their bank. I gave the bank all the info I had and asked for the ACH number and got it.

I think the reason for them not accepting an ACH transfer is that there are a limit on the amount of funds you can send. I had to do two separate transfers.

if Revolut can do the transfer so can transferwise. You just need the proper info.

This is on the Halifax app under transfers

My point was that I don’t think you need to. You do however need to call the bank which the title company uses and get the correct ACH routing number.

With the ACH number it does not matter if you use revolut or TransferWise. I do however prefer revolut over TransferWise as revolut don’t charge an exchange fee nor a transfer fee.
