Best option for UK buyer to pay final balance on resale

I’ve paid deposit on credit card just waiting on ROFR(SSR day 37) and checking out final payment options . I’ve just compared XE v Halifax current account and it’s a staggering difference of £429 (In XE favour )
Halifax Rate 1.20 +£9.50 fee
XE rate 1.23
I know rates will be lower at the weekend but don’t know too much about XE my dilemma is now it’s a big saving but is it a big risk any opinions/ suggestions welcomed Guys

Hi, check with the title company you are going through if they will accept a money transfer from XE. When I tried to use them with Magic Vacation Title they said they could not accept payment via XE as the system was different to a standard bank transfer.

Jeez it’s Magic Vacations Title so may have to look at an alternative but thanks for the heads up, out of interest who did you use if you don’t mind me asking

I sent wire transfers via internet banking with NatWest. I sent a small test transfer first and when they confirmed receipt, I new I had filled the application form in correct,I then sent the rest as 2 transfers as the total was above my daily foreign transfer limit. NatWest charged £15 for each transfer, the receiving bank charged £8.50 for each transfer and Magic Vacation charged 45 dollars each transfer. NatWest also charged a 2.5% currency conversion fee. So not cheep but secure

Magic Vacation get the job done but are not very good at keeping you informed or replying to emails, I always copied in the sales rep from dvcresales and they were excellent.

I did with HSBC. They charge £4 transfer out and as you say *** charge $45.
They are either being ripped off or charging us too much!

Can you use transfer wise from UK to USA ? Just looked it up and it talks about sending money from USA ? Thanks

Just emailed transferwise and they only send ACH txfr to USA , back to the drawing board , just don’t want to use Halifax as difference with fees/exchange rate is around £430 may end up just having to go with it

XE can’t be used with Magic Vacation Title someone had mentioned this earlier because they transfer via ACH , I think some titles like Mason it is ok ,just wanting to have something in place for when I hopefully pass ROFR without feeling robbed on the exchange rate
