Best option for Polynesian to Renaissance Airport Hotel?

On our last day at WDW we plan to make the most of the day at the parks and/or pool, after checking out of the Polynesian. I know that bell services will hold our luggage until we're ready to leave.

What is best/easiest/least expensive transportation option for 2 adults and 2-3 suitcases to get from the Polynesian to Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel? Taxi? Car service? Another idea I'm not thinking of? If car service, which one has the best reputation these days??

We'll stay at the Renaissance on that last night and then use their complimentary shuttle service to get to MCO the next day.

Thanks in advance.

You could use DME to the airport and then the complimentary shuttle to the airport hotel. Just make the reservation directly with DME so you don't need to provide a flight.

Alternately a private service will be quicker but much more expensive probably around 65 ish dollars plus tip one way. When I can't use DME I use Tiffany Towncar and IIRC the round trip is 125 plus tip.

"Best" (in terms of comfort and personal service) would be a private car service directly from the Polynesian to the Renaissance at MCO. FL Tours sponsors this forum and has a good reputation, so that's why I would pick FL Tours if needed a car service.

"Easiest" would be a taxi. You don't need to make advance arrangements. When you retrieve your bags and want to go, bell services at the Polynesian will get a cab for you. There will probably already be cabs waiting.

"Least expensive" would be DME to the airport and the Renaissance courtesy shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The only cost would be tipping both drivers for assisting with your bags. Make arrangements through Magical Express Guest Services at 866-599-0951. However, be aware that it could take an extra hour (compared to a car service or taxi service due to possible DME stops at other hotels and waiting for the Renaissance courtesy shuttle.

Thanks for the replies. I thought about the DME/Hotel shuttle option first, but then that will defeat the fact that we want to make the most of the last day at WDW, so....

So then I thought either car service or taxi. I know we'd have to pre-plan a car service so that would dictate exactly what time we'd need to be back at the Polynesian to retrieve our bags and be ready to be picked up.

So... now I'm thinking that a taxi might be the best option since we could basically decide right at the time what time we want to leave to go to the Renaissance.

Any idea how much a taxi might cost to take us to a hotel that it 2 miles from MCO?

Thanks again for the input! :)

The cabs the line up at the Polynesian are Checker cabs (owned by Mears). You can estimate the fare with the Mears Taxi Fare Estimator:

http://www.mearstransportation.com/taxi-services/taxi-fare-estimator/

Thanks that's perfect! It let me enter the exact address of the hotel. It estimated $63; not bad. :)

Edited to add: I went back and entered the Polynesian's exact address instead of using "Magic Kingdom" and it brought the price down to $60. LOL So, even better!

You may also want to consider renting a car for the day. Pick it up first thing in the morning (or evening before) from Alamo at the Car Care Center, return that evening to MCO.

Leave it parked all day at the Poly, luggage in the trunk. When you're ready to leave, drive yourself directly to the Renaissance to check in and drop off bags. Return car to MCO and take hotel shuttle back.

This involves a couple of extra steps then the taxi but gives you more options in between for stops, meals, etc.
