We are thinking about a trip to wdw sometime this year. No dates in mind yet. Just looking for a deal. Probably Spring or Fall.

I have seen some decent deals on rooms in the Spring. Not fabulous but okay. The park ticket prices are killer! I need to check into discount park tickets.

Maybe we'll stay off site. Don't know.

What deals have you gotten on or off site for 2014? TIA.

We just booked a 2br condo thru Vacation Central Florida for about $75 a nite. Last week of May. Even with the current onsite discounts, a week onsite in the cheapest room they have would cost more than that. I priced it out and a room at All Star Music was about $108 a night. The $30 or so a day savings will more than cover the cost of paying for parking. And, having done a condo stay before, I know we'll probably spend less money on food. Plus I can throw a load of clothes into wash at my convenience and at no extra charge.

Tickets are the budget killer tho. We save a little by purchasing ours from Undercover Tourist thru the Mousesavers link.

We are going in June after school is out. We have a 4 'bedroom, 4 bath house with private pool for a total of 1100 at. Windsor Hills. We are not going in the parks every day just 3 days. Tickets are the killer. We have one day left on hoppers and will buy 2 days for. US/IOA.

The rates aren't up yet for our December 2014 conference at the YC & BC but last year it was held at the CR. Tower rooms went for $189/night. I'm anticipating a similar rate this year for YC. We just have to decide whether we want to attend and book the room when the details come out.

We are also going to the F&W Festival this fall, courtesy of my brother. He has booked a Treehouse Villa at SSR using his DVC points for us, my sister and brother-in-law and himself. All he wants in return is a good meal and the company of some other Disney fanatics. It pays to know people!

I also have a two-night trip booked for March in order to see my nephew march in the MK with his high school band. The OKW studio is 28 points for the trip and if I didn't own DVC, I would probably be paying about $420 to rent the points. Instead, I'm using my own points for which I'm paying about $145 for the annual dues.

Thanks guys, I have been looking into homes for rent and hotels around downtown Disney.

It's been about 4 years since we've been. I had sticker shock over the ticket prices. I guess a little time passing made me forget. I'll definitely use the undercover tourist to save some on the tickets. I might cut down on the park days and we could explore the area.

Just remember, if you are already doing 3-4 days, adding days past that is very minimal. It would be much less than getting tickets for another park. I think it is under $10 a day to add days.
We always add park days rather than planning something different as it's usually cheaper in the end.

Yeah. That is true! We usually get the water parks, plus park hopper. Crazy expensive.

From Aug 21-26 Magical Vacations Travel quoted me just under $2,400 for 5 nights at the Poly and 4 5 day park hoppers.

I got a PIN for 25% Values, which is a far cry from the 35% off Values we scored 3 years ago on our first and only trip to date. We are a family of 5 with 1 under 2yo, so likely the last trip we'll be able to get this affordable. Our dates are April 27 through May 05, It's working out to about 81 per night. Slightly more for the Fri and Sat of our stay. I'm planning on paying this off using GC from Target with the REDcard and Pharmacy Rewards, a savings of around 8%, I think. (I'm no accountant and don't care enough to do the math. Any savings is a bonus to me!) The killer for us is park tickets and air. I'm having a hard time reconciling the difference between our last trip and current prices. Same flights are up roughly 70% with no signs of coming down. But I realize if we don't go now, We're looking at adding on another RT ticket for my now lap child at the minimum. Wait too much longer and we'll have to get a park ticket for him too and upgrade our room category. Makes me a little ill to think about that. With everything happening with FP+ , MDE, and considering the cost of renting a car, paying for parking, gas etc. and the way we like to vacation, offsite doesn't feel like much of a savings to deal with all the logistics involved. I just want to enter the bubble, sit back and take it all in! :)

Wow.. sorry for the ramble. LOL

That is a good price including the tickets.

We're in the same boat. We have a pin too. I've been number crunching. Last time we went it was 40% off and the room prices weren't quite as high. Everything has gone up and and the discount has gone down. Sticker shock all around.

Like you, the FP+ and all the logistics changes are more to deal with. We are more of a spontaneous kind of family. It puts a little ding in things, but we'll deal with it.

I'd like us to have a nice little budget get away. I don't care about frills this trip. Just some fun preferably "in the bubble". :)
