Hi, next month my Dad and Uncle will be meeting me in Disney, spending a night at Wilderness Lodge before heading to Miami. They won't have park passes and are "foodies", so I'm looking for a place to take them for a nice dinner.

So what's your favorite resort or DTD restaurant to recommend for a good dinner?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions :goodvibes

You'll get a lot of different responses to this one. Depends on the type of food they like, if you want a signature restaurant, etc. We've never done a signature restaurant before (although we are trying Jiko's at the AKL in September on the high recommendation of poster, MickeyNikki). Our favorite is Fulton's at Downtown Disney. It is expensive, but we've always had great food and great service. We even got MickeyNikki hooked!

If they are true foodies, nothing comparies to V&A at the GF. And it that is out of your budget, you might want to consider Artist Point right there at the Wilderness. It has some interesting and unusual entrees that they should enjoy.

JIKO! It's Awesome.

Artist Point is supposed to be very good too but I've never tried it.

If you dad is a foodie, please take them over to Blue Zoo at the Dolphin or IL Mulino at the Swan.

Raglan Road in downtown Disney is also very good.

Here's another vote for Jiko. It's my favorite of all the restaurants in WDW!

Citrico's at the Grand Floridian is an underappreciated gem, and my top choice. Can't argue with those who suggest Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, though. Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is good for seafood. Shula's at the Dolphin has great steaks, though it is pricey. Artist Point is up and down in my experience. Would stay away from the California Grill - the view is nice, but the food is comparatively disappointing. And avoid Il Mulino at the Swan at all costs - it's a travesty to even have that name given how mediocre it is compared to the original in NYC, which is one of the best restaurants in the world.

Jiko is my all time favorite. If your looking for a good place for "foodies" this it it. Not only does it have spice combinations that you can't find outside the country's major cities, but it has the largest African wine list in the USA. Additionally, most of the waitstaff are sommeliers. They will make excellent recommendations for pairings. If they sit at the counter, they can watch the chefs at work. They might even get slipped a sample.

I would not suggest Artist Pointe. Although I have had some good meals here, I also got food poisoning. I was ill before I even had a chance to leave the place. Not a good feeling.

If they like artistic food, then Citricos is a good choice. The food is really good. It is quiet and classy. The desserts are so pretty you almost don't want to eat them. Well, almost.

I'm on hold with Disney Dining right now (may give up and try in the morning)..... think I'm going to try for Jiko or Boma, and use the others as backups (well maybe not Artist Pointe, food poisoning doesn't sound too fun)

Been wanting to try both places for a long time now, and I really want to show off AKL to them. Neither is too into Disney, and I just LOVE that place :)

Thanks again for all the help :)

Artist Point is a great restaurant. I would totally recommend it, especially since he is staying there. Having said that, you need to determine what type of food and/or theming you think he would like best. The possiblities are narrowed quite a bit once you do that.

Since you are staying at WL, there is a nearby restaurant that will be convienient and is a unique dining experience. Take the launch across to the Contemporary and dine at the California Grill. The food is good and depending on where they seat you, you can watch them cook it or look our over the MK.

California Grill
Artist Point
Citrico's
Narcoossee's
Jiko
Flying Fish

Take your pick, all are great.

I went to Artiste Point and while we loved it, I don't think it is my favorite. They did have great, intersting meals (I liked the buffalo steak). I enjoyed Kona Cafe as one of my favorites last trip (surf & turf) and liked the sushi there as well as the Hawaiian Bread and pretty much everything. You could also do Ohana which seemed more expensive and fancy, if thats what you want too.

Artist Point is excellent and you won't have to worry about traveling.

Thanks again, I'm going to have to keep all those places in mind for sure.... but I did finally get through to Disney and we have a ressie at Jiko for that night.

I appreciate all the help :)
