If you EVER took my advice on this, DO THIS!

1) Please take my advice and watch Wishes from the Ferry landing. You can hear the music piped in and the view is just spectacular. The fireworks reflect in a mirror effect off of the entire lake. Also the fireworks look slow motion from that far away. Just awesome!

2) California Grill. Watch it from here also. Great view!

Obviouly you can watch it from the resorts if you are staying there, but if not, I suggest one of those two location.

Often times if we are just passing through Orlando, we just stop and walk up to the Ferry Landing and watch Wishes.

Just sent you a PM, but now everyone has your expert advice. Thanks. We are not staying at WDW. We are going on a Disney Cruise and spending two nights before the cruise at the Nick Hotel. We'll have a car and I wanted to take the kids (okay, it's really for me!) to see the fireworks. :cloud9:

Now, here's the question- how do you get to the Ferry Landing???? :confused3

The ferry landing is at the MK parking area. It's where you get the monorail to MK or Epcot.

It really is a great spot to watch the fireworks, we saw them there last September and loved it.

We tried to watch from there last year and they kept chasing everybody out of the landing area. By the time you moved back to where they wanted you, there wasn't much of a view.

I truly feel the best way to see Wishes is with the Castle right in front of you, but if that is not an option, Ferry Landing is likely the next best thing.

Where exactly were you trying to stand? We didn't go onto the actual dock, we stayed to the side of the landing, near the railing and grassy knoll and we had a beautiful view.

My favorite is the beach at the Poly. Pull up a lounge chair, get a drink at the pool bar and relax...ahhhh....wish I was there now.

b/c DS 5 really doesn't like the noise of fireworks, but enjoys seeing them. I would love it if we could hear the music at Ferry Landing!

Thanks for the post!

Will they let you go out on the beach at the Poly at night if you aren't staying there? Just was wondering, I had thought about going there to see my stone and relaxing on the beach chairs for wishes. I would love to take the monorail from the contemporary(have AR for chef mickeys) and then going to the poly.

We like to have a late dinner at Ohana's and then go out on the beach to watch Wishes. They pipe in the music and you get a great view while sitting in a nice lounge chair on the beach. You also get a great view of the Electric Water Pagent as it sails right past the beach.

The music is piped in. Also the fireworks are not loud at all from there. I mean, you can hear them EASILY but they dont have the "boom!" effect of being close.

We watched wishes from the dock of the Poly....music piped in and all. absolutely beautiful minus the crowds.

Of course nothing beats being IN MK for Wishes but if you are not going to a park on that day, it is a great way to do it.

We were actually exiting the ferry during the fireworks and, of course, everyone turned around to look. The CMs were getting a bit nasty about shooing us on through the exit gates. It wasn't just my family. There were lots of guests doing the same thing. Since there was not another ferry coming in that I could see, I didn't really see the harm.

The beach at the Poly! We were their in Oct 2003, 2001, 1999 all the times we watched fireworks from th ebeach without anyone else there. It was empty! Plan on doing it again this year! :cool1:

Hi, just got back last week, and saw wishes from several places acutally.
First, in front of the castle, which was sooo awesome!
second, from the observation deck of the CR, (after dinner @ CG). Great!
third, we had a late dinner @ Ohana`s, we were given a window table. low and behold, when wishes started, they piped the music into the restaurant, lowered the lights, and we saw the fireworks right in front of us !! It was really great sitting in the AC and just listening and watching wishes without the crowd & the heat!!
Not right up there in front of the castle, but it was awesome too! :goodvibes

Do you have to be a resort guest or dining in one of the restaurants to use the Poly beach? We would love to get an ADR at 'Ohana and then watch Wishes from the beach, but w/o knowing the schedule for Wishes it is kind of hard to coordinate it!

Thanks! ::MinnieMo

The observation deck at the CR has piped in music and a great view. Then it's very easy to jump on the monorail.

We came out of the luale at the exact moment fireworks started everyone sat on the beach and watched we loved it
