DW wants to move some of our "nest egg" into a CD at our credit union. The credit union pays Cr@p in interest, so I am seeking alternatives. I would prefer to not do a CD because I am not thrilled with the idea of "locking up" our money. We currently have a money market account through our credit union, however as I said they do not pay well. What is the best online accounts now? I was looking at Ally. Is that the best? I believe they used to be ING.

I'm not sure what is the best, but ING is now Capital One. We have savings and checking trough them and their interest rates were amazing once, but now they are lame. Less than 1%. I might look at a MM with a local investment company that gives check writing capabilities. Good luck!
