I know there's going to be a lot of opinions....:).

We were just wondering which one(s):
are the nicest
easy access around the resort
good breakfast restaurant/QS
Most importantly - have the largest rooms

CBR rooms are slightly larger, but have double beds. We stayed in Jamaica location which was close to everything without paying preferred.

Our fav is POR. We love the mansion section. Either magnolia terrace of Acadian house near bridge to old man island are great locations. Rooms are newly renovated, queen beds, great food court. Love the make your own omelette bar. Also has the boat to DTD and evening entertainment in the lounge.
I think it's the best landscaped resort in WDW.

The "Best" resort for us is POFQ/POR. CSR comes second. The least favorite is the CBR.

POFQ
. . . small and quaint
. . . easy to get around
. . . great food court
. . . best slide on a pool
. . . good transportation

I've stayed at all of the moderates and would rank them (My preference)
1) POR
2) POFQ
3) CSR
4) CBR

my fave overall moderate is probably CSR. I really like them all except CBR (but when my kids were small their pool was probably my fave) The beds at CSR are so comfy and the food options are pretty nice. I've never had bus issues when we've stayed there either like some people experience. If i'm going for a shorter more romantic trip with my DH or something then I like POR.

I vote CSR!!
-beautiful grounds, elegant looking rooms. (more delux'ish). Extra amenities. Biggest hot tub in all of WDW. Slide is the longest of the mods too.
-Pepper Market is awesome.
-Nice queen size beds! CBR rooms might be a tad bigger, but we are talking a 'tad' here.
-Of our Disney stays, CSR has had the best bus service.

1. CBR
2. POFQ
3. POR

We've never stayed at CSR, so I can't rank it.

So far POFQ has been our favorite, didn't really care for CBR much, it was like being in a jungle and the bugs were horrible. POR, I don't really remember as much.

POFQ is just beautiful, it's small and very quaint. The pool is nice and you can also use the pool at POR. The boat to DTD is nice and there is only one bus stop

We haven't stayed at CSR yet, may in Aug/Sept.

I can't find anywhere that says that CBR rooms are bigger than the other mods. I thought they were all around 314 sq ft. I'm not challenging your statement, I'm just curious. I would have thought that they would allow a 5th person there if the rooms were bigger and not POR

According to AllEars, CBR rooms are 340 sq feet.

I have seen it documented other places too that CBR has the largest rooms of the moderates. All Ears just happened to be the first place I looked.

Here too.

I copied this from the Allears website under the CBR fact sheet

"Caribbean Beach Resort
Fact Sheet"

"All rooms open onto an exterior corridor, and are roughly the same layout and size (340 sq. ft)."

We love CBR....it is beautiful, lush, laid back and quiet. I do believe that CBR does have the biggest rooms of all the moderates. We ate breakfast in the food court once and really enjoyed it. DH loved his breakfast quesadillas and I enjoyed my Mickey waffles. As far as access around the resort you will get many opinions on CBR. It is the largest resort and is spread out however we didn't find it to be unmanageable. There is a trail around the resort as well as an internal bus system that circles around the resort stopping at all bus stops. If you feel you are going to be going to Old Port Royale (where the food court, gift shop and main pool are located) a lot and are concerned about the distance between your room and OPR maybe a preferred room might work for you. I would definitely check into CBR and see if it is for you!

We have stayed once at CSR, POR, CBR. All stays in June. I like all 3, would stay at any of them again. Best bus service was at CSR (because of our room location) worst was at POR. Only used the pools at CSR and CBR and enjoyed both (DS loved CBR). Now all that said, my favorite is CBR and DH's favorite is POR. DS said he likes CBR the most (but that is the last one we went to and probabley the one he remembers:scratchin)

I think "best" depends on many factors. We've stayed at POR, POFQ, and CSR. No desire to stay at CBR (double beds, no perks such as night entertainment, boat to DTD, etc.).

POR & POFQ are good for atmosphere. The boat to DTD is a huge perk! We love Bob Jackson's show at the River Roost, and the marina is the best of the mods if you're renting a boat. Elliot Dyson's show at Scat Cat's is good too, but we saw only about a 1/2 hour of his show. Plus, POR & POFQ are sister resorts so you have access to pools at both places.

CSR has a deluxe feel to it! There are more dining options there, and a nice internal bus system in that you can take any park bus to get to El Centro. CSR is the only moderate with a gym and spa. CSR's Dig Site pool has the longest resort pool slide on Disney property.

Honestly, for my family it's nearly a coin toss whether to stay at POR, POFQ, or CSR. We love them all!! :goodvibes

Hmm. Well, obviously everyone's tastes differ. But for ME:

1.) Coronado Springs - I just love the feel, and the restaurant has THE best servers, period. The pool is nice but a looooong ways from the main area. There definitely are some business types here, so it's not AS child-friendly I thought. I love the lobby and the rooms are nice too. It was a very different feel than when I booked it online for the first time. I was expecting to hate it, and now it's my fav.

2.) Caribbean Beach - it's very spread out, that's the only downside. Oh, and the transportation is kind of sketchy. The food court is OK, the restaurant is wonderful, and we liked the pirate pool and playground since we have younger kids. It's pretty quiet, overall. DH and I went there for our honeymoon sans kids and we still enjoyed it.

3.) PORFQ - The food court leaves something to be desired, and some of the decor is so-so. But the actual little streets you walk in between the buildings were just so pretty. And it's pretty compact.

4.) POR - We didn't stay here, just walked through. I wasn't crazy about the theming, but it was still well done. But it was LOUD - there was always construction whenever we went. We haven't tried the restaurant, either. I'm thinking one day we'll stay there and get a better opinion than just walking through, but there are a few other resorts we'd like to check off the list first.

My votes in regard to YOUR question:

POFQ-smallest, easy to navigate. Downside is very limited seating in food court area.
CBR- a close second for me. Love the theming and the large rooms, but avoid the sit down restaurant. Lots of pools!!
CSR - great pool, good food at both CS and sit down. Farthest sections can be a hike.
POR - IMHO the best CS food of all WDW property. Being from The South, the theming and landscaping don't *wow* me.

CBR- a close second for me. Love the theming and the large rooms, but avoid the sit down restaurant.

I know this is a little OT, and of course all opinions differ, but what didn't you like about Shutters? We love it and keep going back!
