Please tell me your favorite moderate resort and why!!

Also, I want to stay away from the resorts that are under construction for the new skyliner.

If you're avoiding construction that leaves POFQ, POR, and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. The Cabins are a unique experience from what I've heard. I'd go with POFQ because it is smaller and easier to get around and it has a boat to Disney Springs. Though to be fair I think once the construction is done Coronado and Caribbean Beach are going to be stunning. Also even with the construction Coronado is still nice because their rooms are being renovated and they look great and the pool is nice.

I love POFQ because it is small and easy to get to everything on property without a long walk. I like to walk to the quick service every am for coffee, and like that I can get there in just a couple of minutes. It is small enough that there is no internal bus system to deal with. You can always walk to POR (about a 7-10 min walk) for more dining options too. I like the pool at POFQ better than POR. It seems to get more sun and has more space. I cant seem to ever get a chair at POR in the afternoon unless it's in the shade. But I'm a sun lover! The only renovations now at POFQ are room refurbs, which should not be bothersome.

POR: beautiful, quiet, peaceful, large QS restaurant with a big variety of items, huge store with everything you could want, carriage rides, bicycles, boat to DS, YeeHAw Bob, mansions or bayou buildings. Don't be afraid of the size or the buses, as some people seem to have a problem with. We have stayed at POR for several years and have not experienced bad service from the buses. The longest we waited was 30 minutes for a bus back from HS one time only.

We don't have one as we find something to enjoy at all of them. We normally just go for whichever one is less. If you want to stay away from construction though your choices are POR and POFQ, between those two POR is my favorite. I like the quiet easy vibe of it, lots of places to sit and relax sort of out of the way. POFQ is the only moderate I haven't stayed at and won't stay there. I don't like the look of the outside (silly I know) it looks too much like a motel for me, the small size that everyone likes is a turn off to me, I like to wander around and find little out of the way places and have walked through and around the resort and really didn't feel the peace. The food courts are the food courts and I'm not a fan of the beignets that everyone seems to think their QS is worth it for. They are just highly powdered donuts to me (I wasn't crazy about the ones in New Orleans either).

POFQ for the small size, theming, and many buses aren't shared with POR.

What changes are they making to Caribbean beach?

Another vote for PO,except we loved Riverside more than the French Quarters.

Another vote for French Quarter which is our favorite resort. As other have said its smaller I can walk from the dock to the bus stop in 6 minutes. It only has one bus stop and lets not forget your one very pleasant boat ride from Disney Springs. And the girls seem to like the pool as well.

Where to begin.....

They tore down the entire village of Barbados (6 buildings) and half of Martinique (3 buildings) and are building a high rise tower that is going to be the new Riviera Resort which will be a DVC property.
They completely gutted Old Port Royale to build a new waterfront table service restaurant, check in area, food court, arcade, and pool bar. Because of this, they have a huge tent setup with a buffet to serve as a temporary food court.
They are erecting the supports and passenger station for the Skyliner Gondola System.
They are building a new QS location at the Trinidad South leisure pool.
