Best mini SUV for under 14K?

I don't think you will find a minivan only a year or two old in that range. Maybe a domestic 5 year old one. I was shocked when we started shopping at how expensive minivans are!

You might look at the Ford Escape. When we bought out only new car ever in 2006 we got a Mazda Tribute that was basically the same car for 16k. It dropped like a rock in value; we will never buy new again. I would buy one that is 3 or 4 years old that someone else has taken the hit of depreciation on.

I have been using cars dot com to hunt down a new-to-me vehicle I can afford in my area.

If you click on "Advanced" under where you type your zip code it takes you to the advanced search function.

You can click on "Used Cars"
"Let Me Choose Body Styles"
Select the type you want, like SUV and adjust the other options as you desire (like $0-$14,000 price)

We 'lucked out' & found an '07 Dodge Grand Caravan for $10k. Everything else was well over $16k. Good luck!

We have a Hyundai Santa Fe and we love it. It is the second one that we have owned. They seem to hold up well and the gas mileage is good.
