Best MGM Restaurant

Hey everyone! I will be going to WDW in Sept. with my DH and 20 mos old daughter. We tried to book the Fantasmic Dinner Package, but they only had a 4:30 seating at Mama Melrose.

What is your favorite MGM restaurant?

Mama Melrose is my favorite restaurant at MGM. My second favorite is Hollywood and Vine (buffet). The Brown Derby, although good food, is a little over-priced (imo). The other restaurants (Sci-fi, 50's etc) are very themed and cute but the food is average.

Well, for the fried chicken and milkshakes, I love Primetime.

For a fun atmosphere and cheeseburgers, I like Sci-Fi, but if I had to pick one or the other, I enjoyed the food more at Primetime.

Haven't been to either one since 1991. We have reservations for both of these for our trip in Sept. Can't wait!

I was going to try the Pizza Planet, but read some bad reviews here on the DIS. I think we may try the pizza at Wolfgang Pucks Express. It counts as a counter service meal on the dining plan.

We'll be there in Sept and have an early seating at Mama Melrose's too. Hey, maybe we'll be sitting next to you! I hope it's as good as I hear it is.

We have enjoyed the Hollywood Brown Derby in the past...not sure if it is worth 2 TS credits, though...

I was reading a thread on the Disney Dining Plan board and Hollywood and Vine was getting some pretty bad reviews. People were saying it was only worth it to eat there to avoid a 90 minute wait for Fantasmic. No ringing endorsements for the food.

We had a wonderful meal at the Sci Fi Dine-in once, but alas, it's not a Fantasmic! Dinner Package option.

50's PrimeTime is our favorite! The food is delicious and the service was great. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

If you want to eat in a fun atmosphere, and have the best burgers, onion rings and chocolate shakes then Sci Fi is for you!!! Our kids love it there, especially drinking their sprite in the glow in the dark cups with the flashing colored ice cubes!!!
