I'm planning a team meeting in Orlando, and in order to keep some sane budget numbers, am looking at Marriott timeshare / condos for both accommodations and meeting spaces (ie using the living / dining room area). One of our team is a Marriott timeshare owner so gets really cheap room rates, which is why I'm looking into those as opposed to some of the other options.
Summary stats: 9 adults, all coworkers (so no shared bedrooms), four days/nights in late October. Mostly meetings during the day, planning one outing to Universal City Walk, and one day at Epcot. For us, it's less important to have the resort amenities of multiple pools, water slides, etc as much as it is nice rooms with good-sized living areas. If any of the Marriott resorts have common patio or rec room areas that we could use to socialize (play board games, etc) that would be awesome. At this point I'm weighing getting five 2 BR condos, versus staying at a resort that offers both multi-BR units as well as "guest rooms". On my list:
Cypress Harbour
Grande Vista
Harbour Lake
Imperial Palms
Lakeshore Reserve
Royal Palms
Sabal Palms
Probably leaning less towards Imperial Palms as it looks like they only have 3BR offerings, and one of those BR has twin beds, so would go unused. I'm going a bit cross-eyed looking at all the websites, so any personal experience would be much appreciated!
