Best location to view wishes and spectro?

What reccomendations do you have for watching both Wishes and Spectromagic? We will be there on March 2 so Spectro is at 7pm and Wishes is at 8 pm. Also the park closes at 8pm. We are open to all thoughts i.e. Pick this one place and then watch both, watch spectro from here then watch Wishes from here etc.

SPECTRO: Anywhere on Main Street. I also like the circular area where the parade starts, near City Hall, Tony's Town Square, etc.

WISHES: I know where not to view it........directly in front of castle. The castle just about obliterates those fireworks. I like the walkway leading to Tomorrowland, just to the right of the castle.There's that bridge there that provides a great spot. That way you see the fireworks, the castle, Tinkerbelle, the whole shootin' match.

So, my recommendation is to see them from diffferent locations.

Can someone tell me the difference in these two events? I know that there are usually fireworks at park closing in the MK when Tinkerbell flys down from the castle Is that WISHES? When we are there in Feb there in NO Spectromagic but there is Wishes so I am just trying to understand what fireworks shows are at the MK. Thanks for any help

Get to the 2nd floor balcony of the train station as early as you can and try and get a spot at the railing in the middle. This will give you a straight shot down Main Street towards the Castle for a spectacular view of Wishes, plus you will have an unobstructed view of Spectro. I took several pictures from up there on my last trip of both Wishes & Spectro and they came out great. Please click on the link to see for yourself.

We watched Wishes 5 times on over Christmas. The best place was on the beach at the Polynesian. Second was in front of Casey's Corner. That centers the fireworks over the castle.

WISHES is a 12-minute fireworks show over the castle.

SPECTROMAGIC is an evening lighted parade that works its way up Main Street.

For the parade, the farther away from Main Street you are is less crowded. The parade ends in Frontierland, and you can get seats on the planter in front of Pecos Bills without too much trouble. That doesn't help with the location for Wishes tho.

Looks like we will be at WDW at the same time! Maybe we'll run into each other, although I think 3/2 is our scheduled Epcot day.

If you are sitting, 100%. Everybody stands for wishes.

Pick a spot between the bottom of Main street and the top of Main street. Once Spectro goes past, everyone migrates to the front of the castle,and "ain'y nobody goin' nowhere". Frontierland is a very good spot to see Spectromagic, but you will never be able to get a good spot to see wishes, because the crowd will probably be impossible. I think Terk-1's idea is very good, especially if you are videotaping it. You'r pictures will be awesome. However, you won't be able to see tink fly, if that is important to you. You can't see her generally from Main street either. To see Tink, you must be up by the castle, preferably near Tomorrowland. But if you leave the Main Street area, you won't have a good spot for Spectromagic. If you are on the right side of the street, up by the castle, you can see Spectromagic, Tinkerbell flying , and Wishes. Not the perfect spot for pictures, but I'm sure you will get some very good shots.

Agreed - we returned yesterday and saw Wishes 3 times over the course of our trip. The first time was from Ohana restaurant at the Polynesian, and the other 2 times at the MK didn't even come close to comparing to that. We all agreed that at the MK, you are TOO close to the fireworks to appreciate the whole breadth of the program.

It's like comparing a city skyline to standing in the middle of the city -- you don't get to see the whole thing and how all the pieces go together unless you're a good enough distance from it. From a distance, it's a beautifully choreographed production where you see how all the elements intertwine and are timed both to the music and each other. When we were in the MK watching it, it seemed just like fireworks. I'm glad we saw it from the Poly first or we wouldn't have appreciated it the way we do.

Thanks for all your suggestions. We are staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge so I may try and make a trip over to the Poly at some point to watch from there.

I second the train station! We just got back from our New Years week trip. The last day we were there we let the kids take a 3½ hour nap so we could go in to the parks and stay late. We just happened to be getting on the train when the first Spectro parade started. We were planning on waiting till the later one AFTER wishes hoping it would be less crowded but it was a great vantage point so we stayed for it. Our kids LOVED being up high and seeing it. Very neat! We didn't hang out there for Wishes though. We saw Wishes from Liberty Square. It was an OK viewing spot, the 2 layers of fireworks weren't over each other as intended but it was still a good show!
