best italian food?

Should we stay in epcot for alfredos or go out to spoodles on the boardwalk?

Just trying to plan as we have 12 nights of food to fill and still struggiling!

Liked Alfredo's, had fun there, food good, thought Mama Melrose's was like eating at Olive Garden. Have only eaten at Spoodles for breakfast.

For the best Italian, go to Palio. Utterly excellent food, superior service, great atmosphere. A very substantial step above.

Mama Melrose is okay. The food is very good, but the service is pretty mediocre.

I have heard a lot more negative reviews of Alfredos than positive reviews, so much so that it remains the only restaurant at Epcot that we've never eaten at.

Spoodles all the way. But Spoodles is more Mediterranean at large rather than just Italian. So it may not be what you want.

If you want pure Italian, I agree with the poster above .. Palio is the best at WDW. Spoodles is wonderful, too, so it would great if you could fit it in another night.

Walk right past Spoodles and go over to Palio at the Swan.
One of the top meals we have had, period, and not your typical Italian food fare. Most excellent.

ANOTHER VOTE FOR OUR FAVORITE WDW ITALIAN.... PALIO! (I don't think Spoodles or Alfredo's compare in any which way)--we've been to all including Mama Melrose...PALIO is by far the best Italian, great selections, great quality and great service.

I have tried everything except Palios so I can't comment on that one. However, my opinion is that all the other "italian" choices on WDW are lacking. Just my opinion from my personal experience, but I will be trying Palios since it has gotten such positive comments.

Portobello Yacht Club is another great Italian restaurant. Not as good as Palio (but then again, could anything else be that good?) but better than all the other options at WDW.
