Best hotel for spending the day at the pool with 4 preteens? DLR hotels sold out :-(

I am taking my 14yr old son, his 13yr old friend, my 10 yr old daughter and her 10 yr old friend to the DCA halloween party on Oct 19th as a b-day present for my son. I wanted to stay at the DLR hotel using a AP rate but there is NOTHING available at any price at any of the 3 hotels for that night. We won't be able to go to the park on Sat as our passes are blocked out so I thought we would stay at a local hotel and let the kids play in the pool all afternoon. We live about 40 mins away so I have never checked out the surrounding hotels. Any suggestions for a hotel that will keep them happy and entertained for an afternoon? If I am going to spend the money to stay the night I want to be able to get the best bang for my buck. I was hoping to find a hotel with a pool slide. I REALLY want to stay at the Disneyland hotel (but not at $300 per night).

I'm pretty sure none of the surrounding hotels, besides the DLR hotels have pools with slides. Hojo's has 2 pools and my 6 and 9yo old love it there. It's pretty much a basic rectangular pool with a kiddie pool area though. Not too sure how 10 yo and 14 yo would like it. We stayed at Del SoL Inn on our last trip and my kids also liked the pool there. It had a deep end that was great for jumping into and diving. I think it was 7 ft deep and it kept my kids entertained for a couple of hours.

Anaheim Plaza probably has the biggest pool of any around. No slide, though.

I would keep calling back every day and seeing if something opens up. I have been calling for 2 weeks for a AP4 rate for the 22nd and this morning I got a concierage DLH room . So book something else and know the latest point you can cancel, and keep trying for the AP4 rate, there are openings occaisonlly.

Thanks for the advice but I just called again and they are solidly booked. There are some big conventions going on. I will keep trying.
