Hello everyone!!!
I am sorry for the delay in my next instalments; I am hoping to FINALLY finish them all over the next few days / weeks so please bare with me
I hope you enjoy the next instalment
After we had changed at the resort (me in my summer dress, though with my veil and tiara still intact, my hubby in shorts and a t-shirt) we went for a bus to take us to Fort Wilderness (FW) so that we can enjoy a romantic horse and carriage ride. As we were waiting so many people commented on my hair/veil which made me feel special, it was still very hot so I was glad to be out of my wedding dress, I had planned not to take it off at all but once the Florida heat hits you soon come to your senses. The bus was crammed but so many people offered me their seat, I said no to so many people until an American family insisted and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We sat down under strict orders. They were so happy for us that it was our wedding day and just couldn’t get enough about it all. They were so kind and wished us all the best for the future
Once we got to FW we looked around…and around…and around… OK ok ok I know I had planned this wedding perfectly, everything about Disney weddings / WDW I knew right…wrong! Just where do we exactly go to get our horse and carriage ride? We had no idea. We just looked lost and didn’t really know where to go. We asked one CM where to go and she said that we would have to drive there and walked off…
I stared at the ground knowing my DH was looking at me with those ‘you didn’t exactly plan this perfectly eyes…’ and then fear kicked in, we were meant to be meeting the lady who would be giving us the horse and carriage ride in 15 minutes!

Where and how were we going to get there? (For those of you who know FW well please understand we don’t! we had never been there before thus the hysteria I was about to induce on my DH was perfectly acceptable…). I could feel my eyes becoming moist as I tried to hold back my tears, DH knowing this started to look around for another CM. Just then a lovely CM in a buggy thing went passed and noticed the look of concern on our faces and asked if he could help?

Yes he could! We told him that we had a horse and carriage ride in 15 minutes etc he started to explain how we get there but as he was doing this he realised that we probably wouldn’t make it. So he decided to add some Disney magic to our day and offered to take us on his buggy! Oh how I love CM’s. I was overjoyed and in a state of happiness. We sat on the back of the buggy holding on very tightly (these things don’t feel very secure when you are on the back seats and are looking at the road whilst you whiz along). My DH managed to do the small talk on our short trip and talked about…football! Men! The CM loved English football and was asking if we had heard of various players…my knowledge started and ended with David Beckham. Once we got to our destination Mark offered the CM a tip though he looked offended and refused to take it. We were so thankful to him and we hope that we showed this to him
The nice CM driving off, the seats you can see at the back were the ones we were on…
Now that the drama was over we waited on a wooden fence for our horse and carriage to arrive.
Within five minute we saw a lady and a horse and carriage arrive, I was hoping that this was ours, luckily it was.
When she got to us she let her horse have a drink and then began to talk to us about the ride we were about to go on. She was very sweet and was overjoyed that it was our wedding day. She helped us onto the carriage and then we were off!
CM who did our ride, she was very nice and let us take her photo.
She pointed out wildlife to us which would have missed whilst looking googly eyed at other, she also had various stories to tell us about past rides some were so romantic others not quite so. She told us about a guy who had proposed and the lady had said no…I bet that wasn’t fun!

The ride is very relaxing and you see lots of wildlife (will we did?). It was romantic (well it was for me…not sure about DH) and the CM was friendly. I would strongly recommend this to anyone whether for their wedding day or just to do something special.
After we said goodbye to the CM and the horse (which I cooed over for ages) we wandered around the resort. We were feeling thirsty and so I went to get us a drink, we decided to share a drink. I went into the restaurant and got a minute maid lemonade, DH would have preferred a cola but I thought lemonade would make a nice change (it also happens to be my favourite drink!) we chilled out for a few minutes and than explored FW. We wandered down to the beach and took a few photos, a lovely teenager offered to take a picture of us both which again is another classic case of Disney magic, normally teenagers grunt at me but not in Disney (ok well not in this instance Disney isn’t a miracle worker!!!)
We headed our way back and got the bus from FW to MK and then we went on the monorail to GF in which we headed to the meeting place for our firework cruise.
We could see the men setting up our boat with balloons, streamers and a big sign saying ‘congratulations’. I was so excited about going on this cruise after hearing all the positive things on Disboards.
When it was our time to go we wandered over to the boat, we were introduced to our ‘captain’ (again a teenager…gosh he did look rather young to be driving us but hey who am I to say?). He helped us on the boat and took us to the front of the boat where champagne and cake was set up for us! This was really exciting and romantic…for me
The yummy cake, the icing on this cake was to die for, it was so delicious!
It started to get really windy and the balloons made an awful noise as we set off, I tried to ignore them and the fact I was freezing (yes in Florida I was cold but this was the only time). The wind got worse and then alight shower started (just my luck), the captain quickly ushered us to the back on the boat that is ‘slightly’ more covered to the front. He moved all of our food and those noisy balloons, I wish he had just left them there, I contemplated ‘accidentally’ undoing them so that they flew away but to be honest I was so loved up I soon forgot about them.
The front of the boat (and you can see the ‘lovely’ balloons at both sides)
We drove around and saw the GF which looked really nice all lit up in the dark, we passed a few other people on boat rides all of which waved and cheered. We then were taken to a part in which we would be able to see wishes…and the lovely pre-show!
For those of you who have seen this will know that they have those lights that come on slowly revealing a different part of a scene slowly whilst a tune plays in the background. Well this went on for some time and I could tell my DH was getting rather annoyed! Luckily for us Wishes started and I really enjoyed this. The captain cut our cake and gave us a big piece each and poured us a glass of champagne and then disappeared to that we could enjoy the show. I love fireworks a lot more then my DH so I think I got a lot more out of it all then he did. In fact he doesn’t really like boats so I guess he was really kind to me to do it at all.
Once wished had finished we went back to the dock, we were allowed to keep the champagne, cake and the balloons but we only took the champagne and the balloons (I had grown attached to them) we had enough wedding cake at our resort to tuck into so we left the remaining cake.
We walked around GF, we found this resort beautiful but a place where we would never like to stay, we just felt out of place. We had a look in a few shops and then headed for the monorail. We were both sleepy and were ready to go home. We got the monorail back to MK and then waited for a bus to take us back to AMo (the line was surprisingly short, I thought with the finish of wishes that it would be long but we must have spent more time in the shops and looking around GF then I had thought).
Once back at the resort we had a look around the shop, DH offered to go and get our refillable mugs whilst I kept looking around. Once we came back we got some cola and then walked back to our room.
Once in we set up the camcorder and talked about our day so that those back home could watch it. We noticed that we had a message on our phone; it told us to go to reception. We were curious as to what it could be so I left DH resting whilst I walked (ran) to the reception.
When I got there I told the receptionists about the message, she started to type on her computer and went off into the back, she came back and looked rather puzzled. She asked me for my room number again, which I gave her, and again she walked off! I waited and waited and then she came back with a card and a gift. Yippy!!!!! To my delight it was a card from Minnie and Mickey, it had a photo of them and they had signed it too. There was also a present from them. I didn’t open this and ran back to the resort. I was so excited that I wasn’t making any sense to my DH as usual; finally once I had calmed down I told him that Minnie and Mickey had been but we had missed them but that they had left us a gift. He read the card and noticed me sat on my hands (I do this when I am trying to restrained myself from doing something) and asked if I would like to open the present. Would I? I rip the box open and it was a Minnie and Mickey wedding day photo frame! I was touched. We both agreed that we were ready for bed; even though I was exhausted I just didn’t want my wedding day to be over. This thought soon gave way to sweet dreams of Disney when I hit my pillow.
I hope you enjoyed my wedding day as much as I did.
