Best hats to wear?

Just wondering what suggestions anyone may have for the best type of hat to wear in parks for sun protection for DS11, DS10, DD4, DH and myself. TIA

Actually, I don't like wearing hats because they make my head hot. I usually will buy a visor and keep sunblock on the tops of my ears.

My DH always wears a ball cap but I prefer a visor.

I usually don't wear a hat (too hot), but if I do it is a visor just to keep the sun off my face.

DH just wears a ballcap, DD hates hats and usually won't wear one, I like previuos posters prefer a visor to keep the sun off my face.

The best visor I ever got was at Universal Studios denim blue Hibiscus flowers with a creamy off white background - I still have it and its been 4 years.

Red hats are great for being visible. My family can always find me because I wear a coca-cola hat from the Cool Zone.

If you want sun protection you need a wide brim and a pale color. A dark hat will make your head so hot that you'll want to take it off.

I use a Watership Trading Companie Vineyard Haven hat. Not cheap, but worth every penny to this freckled redhead. It would be a bit too much of an investment for a growing kid, though.

My kids wear bucket hats when they are not trying to mooch my VH. Neither one of them will wear a sun hat anywhere else, but at FL theme parks they beg for them. Getting a bucket hat to be autographed is fun for a lot of kids -- use a laundry marker to get the best washable result.

If a ball cap is the only thing they will wear, go to a fishing store like Bass Pro and get one with a tuckable neck shield.
