I have pretty curly hair, we live in TN and have high humidity, but nowhere NEAR the kind in FL. We'll be visiting in Sept. and I know it's going to be Hot and humid. So those of you experienced with super-high humidity - what is your favorite product to use in curly hair to tame the frizz and keep it looking great?

An elastic!!!!

Seriously, I wear my hair in a ponytail or two braids every days in Florida. I put FrizzEase mousse in but FL humidity is FL humidity. Nothing is going to calm your hair....seriously! Remember that episode of Friends that Monica and Chandler go on their honeymoon????

Subscribing to this one, for sure. I'll be there in August and I don't want to look like Little Orphan Annie in all of our pictures!

Haha yes I definitely remember that Friends episode! I wish it were that easy of a fix for me - but I have my hair cut sort of short - not long enough to put in a ponytail!

Don't cut it again until your trip!!! That's what I do! My last trim was in May! As soon as I get home from Disney, I cut it back to chin length. Do you look good in baseball caps?

I also have curly hair and actually like my hair better curly in Florida than at home in Massachusetts - And we travel in the humid summer months!

I have fine (but a lot of) curly hair, and LOVE Brocato Mousse Volumizing Foam (and can recommend a reputable on-line store if you need it). Its the only product I use on my hair!

A friend of mine has very thick curly hair, and she loves Catwalk Curls Rock. Doesn't quite work for me, but I love it in her hair.

I also finish my hair off with Paul Mitchell Dry Wax instead of any type of hairspray. It tames the frizz on the ends.

Oh man...I've tried EVERYTHING. Nothing is really helpful. Not even a flat-iron. It's kind of the same at home in Boston for me in the summer. But I find that None Of Your Frizzness by Herbal Essences helps a BIT. Not enough, though lol

I have have found the Aveda Be Curly line (shampoo, conditioner, styling products...I use it all!) Pricey but its worth it if it works! :thumbsup2

The best thing I have found for smoothing my really really thick and wavy hair is Paul Mitchel Super Skinny serum. I don't have really curly hair but it gets BIG in FL and never seems to dry even after 4 hours in the sun. This stuff helps a lot! Usually I can't even get my fingers through my hair in Fl. I also tend to use a lot of conditioner before I leave the room. It kinda weighs down my hair. Oh, and I never ever use the WDW provided shampoos. They dry my hair out so very badly.

The only "hair care product" that works for me is a baseball cap. I take two and switch them out everyday.

I agree, try to let it grow out to a least a bob-length and then pull it back. I know if I had short hair, I'd look like a dirty q-tip!! DE humidity is about the same ( if not worse) as FL so I''m all prepared! Frizz ease serum, hair bands, hats, and a envious look for all the lucky straight haired peeps!!!

try the paul mitchell supper skinny serum or balm these seem to work for my clients down here in Louisiana.

Anyone find it odd that half the people who responded to this live in Mass???? Must be the lousy HUMID weather we had today :rotfl2:

Try the Herbal Essences products for curly hair. They have the shampoo/conditioner and mousse (did I spell that right?:confused3 )

The trick is to not play with it so much once you put the mousse in your hair. It even says it on the bottle. I have been using that product since last year's visit to Disney and it works.

Hope this helps:)

I second this from an earlier comment. That is all I use. The shampoo, conditioner, booster, and amplifier. It works well for me but I have very think really curly hair.

Here are two pictures. Sorry if they turn out big I don't know how to size them down.

I moved here a year ago from California and have yet to find out how to deal with "Florida Hair."

I am now torn between cutting it back to my original chin length bob, and leaving it way too long so I can pull it back in a scruncy when it gets just too plain nasty on my neck.

Currently using Dove ProAge, and Sunsilk Antiflat shampoos.

Thinking about shaving my head :rotfl2:

The weird thing as that whenever I am in the Parks, I see women who have great straight hair! It falls nicely and looks like mine used to. I must restain myself from running up to them and asking, "How do you keep your hair?"

I feel your pain. The best advice I can give, & we go once a year so I have many years to learn what works, is take your CHI flati iron!!! I use the CHI hair products. I iron my hair, pull a few wispies beside my face, & place on a nice & roomy ball cap ! This way if I ride any wet rides or we get a few rain showers, my hair will not look SCARY!! And as a fellow curly headed girl, this works great for me & I do not have to obsess about my hair all day & night !!! :santa: :santa: :santa:

We use the Aussie Sydney Smooth 12 Hr Anti-Humidity Hair Spray, Flexible Hold and it works very good. Make sure you carry a elastic with you because if your hair is like mine, and its starts to rain, your hair gets wet, my hair goes from below my shoulders to my ears :rotfl: There isnt a product that can help with that :hyper:

I have curly hair that I either leave curly and pull back or dry and flat iron straight. When the humidity hits it it gets really frizzy. My bangs never look good. I have tried everything but nothing seemed to work. Our last trip I talked to my SIL who is a hair dresser and cuts my hair and suggested that I try a product that you put in your hair after you dry it. It's called Biosilk and you can only get it at a hair shop. It is amazing. Our last trip, in Sepbember, was the only time I have been able to have my hair look decent while in WDW.
